Disclosed are a liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a method for assembling the LCD device. The LCD device has a display section for displaying images, a receiving container for receiving the display section, a power supplying section for supplying a power source to the display section, a signal converting section for converting signals from the display section and a securing section for securing the power supplying section and the signal converting section to the receiving container. The power supplying section and the signal converting section are disposed between the display section and the securing section that is directly facing to a rear surface of the receiving container. Accordingly, a total thickness and weight of the LCD device can be minimized and an assembly facility of the LCD device can be improved.

A display module includes a display panel configured to display an image and a backlight. The backlight includes a light guide panel configured to guide light to the display panel, a light source element configured to supply light to the light guide panel, and a reflection sheet disposed over the light guide panel, wherein a chromaticity compensation layer is formed in the backlight unit. The chromaticity compensation layer formed in the backlight reduces yellowing.

Display module

One or more embodiments of a backlight assembly include a light guide plate (LGP), a light source module and an optical sheet. The LGP includes a side surface and an upper surface. The light source module includes a power-transmitting member and a plurality of point light sources disposed on the power-transmitting member. A side portion of the power-transmitting member is disposed on a peripheral portion of the upper surface adjacent to the side surface and a light-exiting surface of the point light sources facing the side surface to be adjacent to the side surface. The optical sheet is disposed on the upper surface. A portion of the optical sheet is disposed between a corner portion of the upper surface and the power-transmitting member adjacent to the light-exiting surface. The amount of the light absorbed by a reflective member may be decreased to improve the efficiency of the light.

A light guide unit for a point light source includes a light incident portion, a first reflecting portion and a second reflecting portion. The light emitted from the point light source enters to the light incident portion. The light incident portion includes an optical pattern diffusing an incident light corresponding to the point light source. The first reflecting portion reflects a first light of the incident light. The second reflecting portion roundly connects the first reflecting portion to the light incident portion and reflects a second light of the incident light.

There are provided a backlight assembly () and an LCD device () using the same. The backlight assembly () has an optical sheet () for improving light efficiency and optical properties thereof and an elastic adhesive member () disposed on the optical sheet (). When the optical sheet () deforms with heat, the elastic adhesive member () may be expanded or contracted corresponding to deformation of the optical sheet () and absorb impact applied to LCD device. Accordingly, the backlight assembly () may prevent the optical sheet () from being wrinkled or scratched, thereby preventing display quality of the LCD device from being deteriorated.

Backlight assembly using the same and liquid crystal display device

There is disclosed a backlight assembly for maximizing a light incidence efficiency by changing a construction of a light guide plate and a liquid crystal display device having the same. A light incidence surface of the light guide plate receiving a light from a lamp is inclined to make an obtuse angle with a light-emitting surface through which the light is transferred to the display unit. An open surface of a lamp cover that is disposed to face towards the light incidence surface is formed to have the same inclined angle as the light incidence surface of the light guide plate. In addition, a light reflecting plate and an optical sheet are respectively disposed on the top and bottom surfaces of the light guide plate, on which light absorbing layers, for absorbing light that leaks from the light guide plate, are formed at both ends thereof. Accordingly, there are advantages in that the light incidence efficiency of the light is improved even though a thickness of the light guide plate is not increased, and that it is possible to remove the light concentrated at an edge of the light incidence surface of the light guide plate.

Backlight assembly and liquid crystal display device having the same

A backlight assembly includes a receiving container, a reflecting member, a light source, and a diffusion plate. The receiving container includes a bottom plate and a sidewall upwardly protruded from sides of the bottom plate. The sidewall has at least one recess. The reflecting member includes a reflecting part and a fixing part extended from end portions of the reflecting part to be inserted into the at least one recess. The light source is disposed above the reflecting member to generate light. The diffusion plate is disposed above the light source to diffuse the light. As a result, the manufacturing process for fabricating the reflecting member may be simplified and a size of the backlight assembly may be decreased.
