The present invention related to an apparatus for separating micro-nano scale particles based on microfluidic chromatography using surface acoustic waves, comprising: a piezoelectric substrate; a pair of transducers, which are patterned on the piezoelectric substrate and generate surface acoustic waves when electric energy is applied to the piezoelectric substrate; a microfluidic chip, which is mounted on the piezoelectric substrate and include a microfluidic channel disposed between the pair of transducers, wherein a fluid including micro-nano scale particles flows in the microfluidic channel; and a detection unit, which detects micro-nano scale particles separated by the surface acoustic waves while the micro-nano scale particles pass through the microfluidic channel, wherein forces of the surface acoustic waves generated by the pair of transducers are formed in a direction opposite to a fluid flow to generate flow resistance to the micro-nano scale particles which flows in the microfluidic channel.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for testing a function and a drug response of a platelet based on a microfluidic chip. The apparatus for test comprises a measuring device containing a blood sample and measuring aggregation and adhesion of a platelet generated by flow of the blood sample; and a fluid driving device which is connected to the measuring device and generates a oscillating shear flow of the blood sample. Therefore, activation of factors such as a platelet and von Willebrand factor (vWF) etc. can be activated uniformly and completely, and a repeatability of the platelet aggregation can be increased.

Apparatus and method for platelet function and drug response testing based on microfluidic chip

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for testing a multi-function and a drug response of platelet based on a centrifugal microfluidics. The testing apparatus according to the present invention may include: a rotatable disk; a sample chamber arranged at the center of the disk such that a blood sample is accommodated therein; stirring chambers respectively connected to the sample chamber in multiple radial directions so as to introduce a shear flow in the blood sample; microchannels connected to the stirring chambers such that adhesion and cohesion of platelets occur during the movement of the blood sample; and a waste sample chamber in which the blood sample is accommodated after passing through the microchannels. According to the present invention, multiple drug tests can be performed on a single blood sample at one time in multiple channels such that multiple tests is possible with respect to complex platelet functions, and thus testing time is reduced and testing costs can be saved.

Apparatus and method for testing multi-function and drug response of centrifugal microfluidic-based platelets

There is provided a microchip-based platelet multi-function test apparatus. The apparatus includes a sample container configured to accommodate a blood sample therein, a stirrer that is installed inside the sample container and induces a shear flow in the blood sample, a parallel channel configured to divide and flow the blood stirred by the stirrer into a plurality of paths, a vacuum device that is connected to an end of each parallel channel, maintains constant pressure, allows the stirred blood to flow along the parallel channel, a light source that is installed in a rear side of the parallel channel and radiates light to the parallel channel, and an image sensor that receives light transmitted through the blood in the parallel channel, converts the light into an electrical signal, and measures a flowing distance of a blood flow.

Microchip-based apparatus for examining platelet composite functions

An apparatus and method for platelet multi-function analysis using measurement of electrical characteristics, and a stirring microchip are provided. The apparatus for platelet multi-function analysis includes a stirring microchip that has a sample storage chamber formed therein to hold a blood sample, and in which an inner part of the sample storage chamber is coated with reagents composed of collagen and epinephrine, or collagen and ADP. The apparatus for platelet multi-function analysis further includes a microstirrer installed inside the stirring microchip to stir the blood sample and the reagents in the stirring microchip and a stirring induction unit configured to facilitate stirring of the microstirrer. Therefore, the platelet aggregation and multi-function analysis can be performed using a trace of blood, and the platelet aggregation and multi-function analysis can also be performed using the whole blood taken from the veins through a vacuum tube containing an anticoagulant.
