A file folder assembly is easy to construct and utilize, is simple to expand, and allows a maximum number of discrete files to be stored in a minimum amount of usable space. First and second slotted shelving uprights extend generally parallel to each other and are mounted on an office panel or wall. Pairs of side brackets with mounting ears and lock projections fit within the slots, and have rod receiving openings at opposite ends. Rods, e.g. round galvanized steel rods, pass through collars formed at the ends of flexible file folders, each rod gripped by the side brackets at opposite ends, two side brackets supporting two rods and the flexible file folder extending between them. The file folder may be of polypropylene or PVC sheet material, creased at a lower portion so as to prevent papers disposed in the file folder from rising up the sides.

Vertical filing

An assembly for applying a tone to a document includes an elongated hollow casing, a rotatable print element mounted in the casing with a print applying surface extending outwardly from the casing, and a mechanism to supply the ink to the print element. The print element has tone applying projections, such as dots or lines, extending outwardly from it, and may comprise a roller rotatable about a fixed axis of rotation, a sphere, or an endless belt. Ink is applied to the print element with a piece of foam, or with a bundle of fibers. The foam is positively held in place in the casing with notches and ridges, and may have a wide variety of configurations, especially of the surface associated with the foam that engages the print element.

Tone pattern applying instrument

Text (indicia, words, symbols, etc.) of documents is highlighted in such a way that it will reproduce when electronically copied (e.g. photocopied or telecopied). This is accomplished by applying a tone to only that area of the document to be highlighted and so that the tone remains in place during copying. The tone is sufficiently dark so as to highlight the text, but light enough so that the text is readable. The tone may be a dot or line screened tone having about 30-65 lines per inch with a density of about 10-22%. The tone may be applied on adhesive tape and just placed over the document portions to be highlighted. The tape may be dispensed from a dispenser. Alternatively, the tone may be on a transfer sheet, and is transferred to the document merely by the act of rubbing on the transfer sheet. The tone may also be applied to the document utilizing a print wheel in a casing, that is moved over the document. After the document is electronically copied (e.g. by a photocopier or a facsimile machine, for example) the document is highlighted yet the text is clearly legible.

A flight desk is simple yet provides visual indicators so that a more failsafe procedure may be followed utilizing the device for pilot pre-flight checklists, or other lists or procedures. A board assembly includes a main body having a flat top surface, and a number of visual indicators, such as LEDs. The LEDs are mounted on the main body top surface so that when an indicator card with pre-flight or in-flight indicia is mounted on the flat surface, the indicia line up with the LEDs. A clip, or like holding device, holds the indicator card on the flat top surface. A storage compartment is formed in the body for receipt of a number of the indicator cards, with tabs of the cards extending outwardly from the body. Channels are defined along the top and bottom edges of the body for receipt of electrical accessories with protrusions shaped like the channels, or mechanical accessories with similarly shaped protrusions. An electrical switch may be associated with each LED, or two LEDs can be associated with each switch, or a common switch may be provided for all the light emitting diodes, with an additional advancing switch.
