The method comprises a first determining step , a measuring step , a second determining step , and a re-ordering step . In the first determining step , the method determines a line between adjacent center points of the original images. In the measuring step , the method measures, for each line, the shortest distance from the insertion point of the new image inserted on the page to said line. In the second determining step , the method determines the minimum of the shortest distances. Finally, in the re-ordering step , the method re-orders the one-dimensional list by inserting the new image in the list of original images at that position in the list corresponding to the line having the minimum shortest distance.

Ordering a plurality of objects

A method of increasing the speed of image creation on a computer system for the interactive creation of images via a series of creation steps. A resultant image of each of the creation steps is copied to a corresponding separate storage buffer. When making an amendment to the series of creation steps previously performed, one or more of the resultant images is used, so as to reduce the rendering time of producing a final output image.

Utilization of caching in image manipulation and creation

A method of generating one or more live images includes the step of providing a raster-based raw image representation. A repaired image representation is then generated, based on the raw image representation and one or more selected first image effects from a first set of image effects. Following this, a live image representation is generated, based on the repaired image representation and one or more selected second image effects from a second set of image effects, such that the live image representation incorporates the selected first and second image effects. Finally, the live image representation is rendered to a screen or printer.
