A connector assembly includes a center contact configured to be terminated to a center conductor of a cable. A dielectric holds the center contact. An outer contact surrounds the dielectric and the center contact. The outer contact has a mating segment extending from a mating end, a terminating segment extending from a cable end, and a middle segment between the mating and terminating segments. The terminating segment is configured to be terminated to a braid of the cable. The middle segment has a diameter that is less than the respective diameters of the mating and terminating segments. A cavity insert surrounds the middle segment of the outer contact. The cavity insert includes a receiving shell and a closing shell that are joined together at an interface.

Connector assembly

A connector assembly includes a dielectric having a right angle body including a first segment and a second segment and defining a right angle chamber extending through the first and second segments. At least one door at a right angle corner of the body provides access to the right angle chamber through a rear opening in an open state, and restricts access to the rear opening in a closed state. A female center contact in the right angle chamber in the first segment has a terminating end configured to electrically connect to a cable conductor of a cable received in the right angle chamber in the second segment. A front shield receives the dielectric and forces the door to move from the open state to the closed state upon loading the dielectric into the front shield. A rear shield couples to the front shield.

Right angle connector assembly

An electrical connector includes a housing, a first contact, and a second contact. The housing has a first segment oriented transverse to a second segment, and a cavity extending through the first and second segments. The first contact is received in the cavity within the first segment. The second contact is received in the cavity within the second segment, and is oriented transverse to the first contact. A mating end of the first contact includes a cap and at least one deflectable arm that define an attachment region therebetween. A mating end of the second contact includes a bulb that is received in the attachment region to mechanically and electrically connect the mating ends. The at least one deflectable arm engages a proximal portion of the bulb, and the cap engages a distal portion of the bulb to retain the bulb in the attachment region.

Electrical connector

A socket assembly includes a photovoltaic package having a substrate with a photovoltaic cell and contact pads electrically connected to the photovoltaic cell. A dielectric housing removably receives the photovoltaic package. The dielectric housing holds contacts in mating engagement with the contact pads. A metal shell receives the housing and the photovoltaic package, and the metal shell has a window providing access to the photovoltaic cell.

Socket assembly for a photovoltaic package

A header assembly includes a center contact, a dielectric body surrounding the center contact and an outer housing holding the center contact and the dielectric body. The outer housing has a rear shell mounted to a circuit board and positioned interior of the casing. The outer housing has an outer contact extending from the rear shell that extends through an opening in the casing with a portion of the outer contact positioned exterior of the casing. The dielectric body is received in the outer contact. A shield member is coupled to the outer housing. The shield member engages the outer contact to electrically connect the shield member to the outer housing. The shield member has spring fingers that engage the casing at the opening. The spring fingers electrically connect the outer housing to the casing.

Header assembly configured to be coupled to a casing

An electrical connector assembly includes a connector having a connector housing and contacts held by the connector housing, where the contacts defining a separable mating interface for mating with a mating component. An actuator engages the contacts and is movable between an actuated position and an unactuated position. The contacts are deflected relative to the connector housing when the actuator is moved to the actuated position. An actuation device is configured to move the actuator between the actuated position and the unactuated position.

Electrical connector assembly having a separable mating interface

A connector assembly includes a housing, a connector interface, and an actuator. The housing extends from a front end to a back end and includes an elongated channel extending through the housing along an actuation axis disposed between the front and back ends. The connector interface is joined with the front end of the housing and is configured to be electrically joined with a circuit board when the connector interface is moved away from the front end and mates with the circuit board. The actuator is disposed within the channel of the housing and includes a ramp angled toward the front end of the housing. The connector interface mates with the circuit board by moving the actuator along the actuation axis to engage the ramp with the connector interface and move the connector interface toward the circuit board.

Linearly actuated connector mating interface

A low profile photovoltaic connection system for placement in space restricted areas. The connection system includes a connection box, diodes, and heat sinks inside of the connection box. The heat sink element is maintained in contact with the diode element such that the heat sink dissipates heat externally of the junction box and the contacts are arranged with a flat surface parallel to the solar panel to reduce vertical elevation of the junction box when mounted to the solar panel.

Low profile photovoltaic (LPPV) box

A connector assembly for a photovoltaic module includes a locator having a support rib configured to hold a buss of the photovoltaic module, and a connector housing holding a contact. The connector housing is configured to be mounted to the photovoltaic module over the locator such that the contact is mated to the buss in a press-fit connection.

Connector assembly for a photovoltaic module

A solar module connector comprising: a cable; a housing having a mounting surface at least a portion of which partially defines an opening for facilitating contact with at least one buss lead of a solar module, a cavity, a cable end, and a passageway between the cavity and the cable end; a seal disposed around the cable and at least partially seated in the passageway; and a contact electrically connected to the cable and disposed in the cavity proximate the opening.

Solar module connector and method of use

A connecting box, gland nut, and electrical connector for the solar connector industry is disclosed. The connecting box, the gland nut, and the electrical connector require a tool to disengage, are being resistant to external environmental stressors, and/or provide the ability to monitor information regarding the connecting box, the gland nut, and/or the electrical connector.

Solar box and two position solar connectors

An electrical connector assembly includes a housing, a receptacle and a receptacle contact. The housing has an interior chamber between a cable end and an interface of the housing. The interface is configured to receive a mating end of a mating electrical connector. The receptacle contact is disposed within a slot of the receptacle and is configured to engage a corresponding contact in the mating electrical connector. The receptacle contact is pivotally mounted in the receptacle and configured to pivot about a pitch axis and along the slot of the receptacle to align with the corresponding contact in the mating electrical connector. Optionally, the receptacle is mounted so as to pivot in the interior chamber and is configured to pivot about a yaw axis within the interior chamber over a predetermined limited range of travel to align the receptacle contact with the corresponding contact in the mating electrical connector.

Electrical connector organizer

An electrical connector assembly for electrically coupling primary and secondary circuit boards together. The secondary circuit board is held proximate to the primary circuit board and has a first contact array of board contacts thereon. The electrical connector assembly includes a circuit assembly having a second contact array of mating contacts configured to mate with the first contact array and a flexible circuit that electrically couples the second contact array to the primary circuit board. The electrical connector assembly also includes an alignment feature that is configured to engage the secondary circuit board. Also, the electrical connector assembly includes a coupling mechanism that is configured to move the alignment feature and the second contact array between a retracted position, in which the second contact array is located remotely from the first contact array, and an engaged position, in which the first and second contact arrays engage one another.

Connector assemblies and systems including flexible circuits

A connector assembly adapted for mounting to a panel having a cutout includes a connector having a body including sides defining a perimeter configured to fit within the cutout. The connector includes a flange extending outward from one of the sides of the body, and the flange is configured to engage a front surface of the panel to define a stop against the panel when the connector is in a mated position. The connector is configured to be one of either front loaded through the cutout from a front of the panel to the mated position or rear loaded through the cutout from a rear of the panel to the mated position.

Panel mountable connector assembly

A removable card connector assembly configured to be inserted into and engage an electrical system. The card connector assembly includes a circuit board that has a surface extending along a board plane in a longitudinal direction. The card connector assembly also includes an electrical connector assembly that is coupled to the surface of the circuit board. The electrical connector assembly includes a flexible circuit and a moveable contact array of mating contacts that are coupled to the flexible circuit. The moveable contact array is configured to engage a system contact array of mating contacts in the electrical system. The card connector assembly also includes a coupling mechanism that is configured to move the moveable contact array between retracted and engaged positions. The mating contacts of the moveable contact array are arranged along a contact plane that extends in the longitudinal direction when in the engaged position.
