An augmented lens assembly for use with a light source featuring a main lens component having one or a plurality of light refocusing elements associated with the main lens and arranged along at least one surface of the main lens of the lens assembly that provides for improved uniformity in light distribution and improved illumination. Luminaires featuring one or a plurality of augmented lens assemblies, associated light sources and optionally, baffles, further featuring one or more main lens components having one or more light refocusing elements associated with the main lens portion and arranged along at least one surface of the main lens to provide for improved uniformity in light distribution, improved illumination and aesthetic improvements to the visual appearance of the luminaires when observed in either a lighted or non-lighted condition.

The present invention relates generally to tessellated bezel light diffusers which act to disperse penumbral light providing more uniform and even illumination. The present invention also relates to luminaires employing an array of light sources with tessellated bezel light diffusers which act to eliminate edge and transition lighting effects providing more uniform and even illumination between LEDs and at the periphery of illuminated zones. The present invention also relates to luminaires employing LED arrays equipped with tessellated bezel light diffusers that provide very uniform illumination zones with more evenly dispersed transitional edge lighting than conventional luminaires.

The present invention relates generally to low glare illumination arrays and luminaires which act to disperse light into a three-dimensional space providing more uniform and even illumination with reduced glare. The present invention also relates to luminaires and illumination systems employing an array of solid state light sources with shaped bezel light diffusers which act to reduce glare and provide more uniform and even illumination of surfaces and spaces. The present invention also relates to luminaires employing a plurality of linear LED arrays equipped with shaped bezel light diffusers collectively oriented at a common acute angle, optionally including internally curved reflective or non-reflective surfaces to provide improved illumination with reduced glare.

The present disclosure relates to a means for vertically suspending a single lighting element or a plurality of lighting elements within a rail system using one or a plurality of wedge pin suspension systems that employ a wedge pin securing device and a receptive collar assembly to grip and secure in place one or a plurality of electrical cables having at least two insulated conductive electrical leads to provide both vertical support and electrical power to the suspended lighting elements. The present disclosure further relates to a manually adjustable and reservable wedge pin securing device configured for easy manipulation, yet providing a secure vertical suspension means using a lighting system's own electrical cable for support based on combined frictional and gravitational forces.

A catadioptric lens assembly is disclosed for use with various light emitting sources. The lens assembly includes an upper section and a lower section, right and left portions thereof being symmetrically disposed about a center vertical optical axis defining a plane normal to and perpendicular to a longitudinal axis. The upper section includes two lens lobes with surfaces exhibiting a positively curved elliptical, circular or parabolic shape, being bilaterally symmetric about the vertical optical axis. The lower section includes a single lens lobe with a surface exhibiting a negatively curved spherical shape, bilaterally symmetric about the vertical optical axis, connecting to symmetric linear transition regions on both sides of the lower section and transitioning to edge support regions shared by the upper section of the lens assembly. Co-extrusion or selected surface treatment to form a top, bottom, or dual optical layer integral to surfaces of the catadioptric main lens enables improved dispersal of incident light resulting in more uniform illumination.

The present invention relates generally to lighting systems, and more particularly to a freely adjustable, exchangeable and configurable lighting system that can be reconfigured, mounted and positioned in multiple independent configurations to provide task lighting to illuminate a specific area. The present invention relates more specifically to a reconfigurable lighting system employing surface connection means, support means and adjustment means to enable a task lighting element to be mounted to any desired vertical or horizontal surface, fixture or edge thereof. The present invention also relates more specifically to a magnetically enabled coupling and adjustment means that enables a task lighting element to be positioned at a selected rotational or angular orientation by hand, yet maintain its position against the force of gravity. The present invention also relates more specifically to a magnetically enabled parallelogram positioning system that enables a task lighting element to be positioned at a selected distance, height or angular orientation by hand, yet maintain its position against the force of gravity.
