A disclosed computer-implemented method may include directing a display device included in a head-mounted display worn by a user to illuminate, via a projection of a line at an illumination time, a portion of a cornea of the user. The method may further include detecting, via an image sensor at a detection time, a portion of the projection of the line reflected by the portion of the cornea of the user and identifying a distortion of the projection of the line reflected by the portion of the cornea of the user. The method may also include determining a shape of the cornea of the user based on the illumination time, the detection time, and the distortion of the projection of the line reflected by the portion of the cornea. Various other methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for mapping corneal curvature

The disclosed eye-tracking systems may include a visible light display having visible light pixels, at least one infrared pixel positioned within bounds of the visible light display, and an infrared sensor positioned and configured to detect infrared light originating from the at least one infrared pixel and reflected from an eye of the user. A disclosed computer-implemented method may include directing an illumination source, positioned at a predetermined position relative to an event camera positioned to receive light from the illumination source reflected by a portion of a cornea of a user during an illumination sequence, to illuminate the portion of the cornea of the user in accordance with the illumination sequence. The method may also include detecting, via the event camera, a set of events, each event in the set of events comprising a change in an intensity of light from the illumination source received by a pixel included in the event camera over a sampling period of the event camera. The method may further include determining a shape of the portion of the cornea of the user based on the predetermined position, the illumination sequence, and the set of events. Apparatuses, systems, and methods for mapping a surface of an eye via an event camera

A disclosed apparatus may include a line source configured to produce a line of light and a scanning device configured to scan the line of light across a scanning field in a scanning direction. The scanning field may include a receiving portion configured to receive an eye. The apparatus may also include a reflector positioned within the scanning field. During a primary period of a scan, the line of light may scan the receiving portion in a primary direction. During a secondary period of the scan, the reflector may reflect the line of light such that a reflection of the line of light scans the receiving portion in a secondary direction. The apparatus may also include a photodetector positioned to receive (1) an initial reflection during the primary period, and (2) a subsequent reflection during the secondary period. Various other methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for scanning an eye via a folding mirror

A wearable, head-mounted display system includes a near-eye display to display an augmented reality object perceivable at an apparent real world depth and an apparent real world location by a wearer of the head-mounted display system, and a controller to adjust the apparent real world location of the augmented reality object as a function of a field of view (FOV) of the wearer. The function is based on a bounding region of the augmented reality object and one or more overlap parameters between the bounding region of the augmented reality object and the FOV of the wearer.

A head mounted display device and method for contextual cursors comprising a camera configured to capture a series of images, a display, and a processor configured to: display, to a user of the head mounted display device, a virtual cursor on display so as to appear at a location in a three dimensional environment, determine whether motion of a hand of the user in the images is trackable, and in response to at least determining that motion of the hand is trackable, modify a visual appearance of the virtual cursor to indicate that motion of the hand is trackable, and in response to at least determining that motion of the hand is not trackable, modify the visual appearance of the virtual cursor to indicate that motion of the hand is not trackable.

An example wearable display system includes a controller, a left display to display a left-eye augmented reality image with a left-eye display size at left-eye display coordinates, and a right display to display a right-eye augmented reality image with a right-eye display size at right-eye display coordinates, the left-eye and right-eye augmented reality images collectively forming an augmented reality object perceivable at an apparent real world depth by a wearer of the display system. The controller sets the left-eye display coordinates relative to the right-eye display coordinates as a function of the apparent real world depth of the augmented reality object. The function maintains an aspect of the left-eye and right-eye display sizes throughout a non-scaling range of apparent real world depths of the augmented reality object, and the function scales the left-eye and right-eye display sizes with changing apparent real world depth outside the non-scaling range.

Various embodiments relating to selection of a user interface object displayed on a graphical user interface based on eye gaze are disclosed. In one embodiment, a selection input may be received. A plurality of eye gaze samples at different times within a time window may be evaluated. The time window may be selected based on a time at which the selection input is detected. A user interface object may be selected based on the plurality of eye gaze samples.

An image to be shared with other users based on input from a first user is received. A second user is identified from a tag of the image, and information is provided, based at least in part on the tag, to one or both of the first user and the second user. Additionally, after editing of an image a determination can be made as to whether a region of the image having an associated tag has been affected by the editing. The tag associated with the region is altered if the region has been affected by the editing, otherwise the tag associated with the region is left unaltered. Furthermore, the tag can include a first portion storing data identifying a region of the image to which the tag corresponds, and a second portion storing data identifying a person shown in the region.

Tagging images with labels

A global tag for an image is received identifies one or more objects in the image, and a region-specific tag for the image identifies one or more objects in a region of the image. The global tag and the region-specific tag are stored with the image. Displayed, along with the image, is an identifier for each of the one or more objects identified in the global tag, and an identifier for each of the one or more objects identified in the region-specific tag. Different users are able to maintain different names for the same person, allowing the same tag of the image to be used as the basis for displaying the image with different names for the different users. Additionally, the tags can be used as a basis for generating a credits list of people that are included in a compilation of images.

A method and system to extending naming of captured multimedia data to secondary applications is provided. The secondary applications are registered and associated with identifiers. The identifiers are stored in naming templates utilized by a file-naming engine. A multimedia-acquisition engine captures the multimedia data and communicates with the file-naming engine to generate a path that specifies a location to store the captured multimedia data. The file-naming engine processes the naming template to determine whether the secondary applications or default values are utilized to generate the path for the captured multimedia data.

Both an edited version of a first image and an original version of the first image are stored at a first computing device. In response to a user request to synchronize images across multiple computing devices, both the edited version of the first image and the original version of the first image are synchronized with a second computing device.
