An embodiment of a method is disclosed, including but not limited to, dividing a reward token in a reward token data base into a plurality of reward token pieces based on a selection of plurality of end user data delivery vehicles on which an advertiser wants to send the reward token pieces to an end user; sensing end user activity on a communication network on at least one of the plurality of end user data delivery vehicles at one of a plurality of data delivery vehicle servers; sending from a first one of the plurality of data delivery vehicle servers, a first one of the plurality of reward token pieces to the end user on a first one of the plurality of end user data delivery vehicles; and sending from a second one of the plurality of data delivery vehicle servers, a second one of the plurality of reward token pieces to the end user on a second one of the plurality of end user data delivery vehicles. A computer program product and system for performing the method are also disclosed.

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a digital video recording (DVR) system having a controller to record video content supplied by an interactive television (iTV) communication system as directed by a plurality of users of the iTV communication system, receive from a communication device of one of the plurality of users a request for a portion of the recorded video content, identify a need to transcode the requested portion of the recorded video content according to one or more operating characteristics of the communication device, transcode the requested portion of the recorded video content to conform with the one or more operating characteristics of the communication device, and transmit to the communication device the transcoded video content. The DVR system can be located outside of the premises of each of the plurality of users. Other embodiments are disclosed.

System and method for recording and distributing media content

A method includes receiving input data from user devices having access to media content of a media stream that is responsive to at least a subset of the input data. The input data may correspond to one or more user inputs received from the user devices via an interactive session associated with the media content. The method further includes selecting a particular subset of the input data based at least in part on one or more inputs received from a device. The one or more inputs may be responsive to selection of one or more input controls of a moderator control graphical user interface. The method further includes sending an adapted media stream to the user devices. The adapted media stream may include the media content and content corresponding to the particular subset of the input data.

Systems and methods of media stream generation based on categories of user expression are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method includes receiving input selecting at least one category from a plurality of categories of expression. Each of the plurality of categories is descriptive of a type of expression made by users as media content is presented. The method includes selecting a group of segments of the media content. Each of the segments of media content in the group is associated with the selected category. The method further includes generating a stream of media content that includes each of the segments of media content.

In response to the request, a first set of icons are provided for display, where each icon corresponds to a type of available multimedia content. In response to selection of an icon, a second set of icons is displayed in an approximately circular arrangement, where each icon of the second set corresponds to a sub-type of the available multimedia content. The user can continue to select icons based on the type of desired multimedia content until a list of available multimedia content items are displayed. Accordingly, the user is able to quickly locate and view multimedia content of a desired type, resulting in an improved user experience.

The user interface presents novel methods to send the desired search result to the IPTV via the application server. The user may 'throw' the media resource to the set-top box using a hand gesture to invoke an accelerometer in the handheld communications device.

Systems and methods to provide interactive moderated collaborative sessions are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, a method is disclosed that includes receiving a media stream and associating moderator controls with the media stream to create an interactive media session. The interactive media session enables multiple remote users to interact with one another with respect to the media stream. The moderator controls enable a moderator to facilitate the interaction of the multiple remote users. The method also includes sending display data to display devices of the multiple remote users. The display data is based on moderator control input received via the moderator controls, interactive input received from the multiple remote users, and the received media stream.

Exemplary embodiments include methods, systems, and storage mediums for implementing issue notification and resolution activities. A method includes receiving a request for access to a network service from an end user client system associated with an account. Upon determining an issue is associated with the account, the method includes flagging a user profile for the account to reflect the issue. Flagging accounts includes assigning a unique flag for each type of issue for determining a location for routing the request associated with flagged user profiles. The method also includes redirecting the request for access to a web server of the service provider network. Upon successful resolution of the issue, the method includes providing access to the network service for the end user client system.
