Disclosed herein is a chair that includes a backrest portion, a seat portion coupled with the backrest portion, a column portion coupled with the seat portion, a linkage coupled with the backrest portion, a leaf spring in direct contact with the linkage, an arc-shaped toothed structure fixed translationally relative to the column portion, and a different toothed structure in contact with the arc-shaped toothed structure. The chair is also configured such that when a weight is applied to the seat portion, a fulcrum point of the leaf spring moves as the different toothed structure moves along the arc-shaped toothed structure to thereby shorten a working length of the leaf spring and provide an increased resistance to tilting of the backrest portion relative to the column portion. A process for assembling the chair and a weight-based tilt-resistance assembly for use with the chair are also described herein.

A reconfigurable apparatus for seating a user and having: a frame; a seat movable relative to the frame between: a) a first position in which the seat resides with no user sitting on the seat; and b) a loaded position; a back rest with a changeable angular orientation relative to the frame; and an adjusting assembly having a plurality of gears that move relative to each other as an incident of the seat moving from the first position into the loaded position to thereby cause an increase in resistance to changing of the angular orientation of the back rest.

Apparatus with weight responsive changeable adjusting characteristics

A reconfigurable apparatus having: a frame; at least a first component on the frame upon which a force is applied in a first manner in using the apparatus for its intended purpose; and at least a second component on the frame that is movable relative to the at least first component and/or the frame and upon which a force can be applied in a second manner to reconfigure the apparatus by moving the at least second component relative to the at least first component and/or the frame. An adjusting assembly cooperates between the at least first component and the at least second component and is configured so that as an incident of the force being applied in the first manner changing, the force being applied in the second manner required to reconfigure the apparatus changes.

A paint can holder for holding a paint can having an upper groove and lower lip comprises a bracket defining upper and lower ends, with the lower end defining a groove configured to accept the lower lip of the can therein. A clip and a lock operably are attached to the bracket proximal to the upper end. The lock is operably engageable with the upper groove of the can to removably secure the holder and can to one another. The clip is operably engageable with a belt or article of clothing. The holder preferably further includes a magnet located on the lock for magnetic engagement with a ferrous bristle binding of a paint brush to suspend the brush within about an interior of the can. In another embodiment, the paint can holder is adjustable to accommodate the holding of various sizes of the paint.

Paint can holding appratus and method

A handheld massage device that may be employed to provide therapeutic massage to a user's backside includes a user-grippable, generally hook-shaped handle and a massage tool mounted at one end thereof. The massage tool has a plurality of body-contacting work elements that may be selectively moved into operative position and locked in place. A releasable, spring-loaded locking mechanism is provided between the handle and the massage tool so that the tool is locked in position when engaged and unlocked and rotatable when disengaged. The handle may be formed as an integral piece or in segments that can be assembled in end-to-end relation or disassembled and compactly folded for storage. In segmented form, a resilient line may extend internally within tubular segments between the respective end segments to securely hold the handle segments together and cooperating parts axially and rotationally align the separable segments when assembled.

Handheld massage device

A device for dispensing a sheet from a stack of sheets is disclosed. The device includes a holder for receiving a refill container including the stack of sheets. The holder includes a holder base wall and opposed holder side walls extending up from the holder base wall. The refill container includes a container base wall and opposed first and second container side walls extending up from the container base wall. A first flap extends inward from an end of the first container side wall, and a second flap extends inward from an end of the second container side wall. The first flap and the second flap are dimensioned to define a longitudinal dispensing slot of the container. At least one of the first flap and the second flap of the container can flex upward when a sheet is dispensed from the device. In one form, the sheets comprise a thin sponge material.

A device for a two-way adjustable sign system for mounting to a shelf, the device comprising a frame having an upper rail, a lower rail, and a first and a second side bracket, the upper rail and the lower rail each having an inner and an outer rail, wherein the inner rail is slidably moveable within the outer rail, and wherein the first and second side brackets each have an inner and outer bracket wherein the inner bracket is slidably movable within the outer bracket.

Two-way adjustable sign system

A self-returning horizontal sign system mounts to an associated structure. The system sign includes an upper rail having front and rear, parallel, spaced apart tracks and a lower rail having front and rear, parallel, spaced apart tracks. A pair of panels extend between and span the upper and lower rails. Each panel has a carrier assembly mounted to an upper region thereof for cooperation with a respective front or rear track of the upper rail. The carrier assemblies have at least two rollers that are carried in the upper rail. The panels each move between an open position and a closed position. A closure formed as a pull box is associated each panel and includes a spool having a cable wrapped around it. The spool is rotatable to retract and extract the cable from about the spool. The closure includes a tension bias element operably connected to the spool to bias the spool to retract the cable. The cable is operably connected to the panel such that moving the panel from the closed position to the open position extracts the cable. The closure includes a rotating dampening element operably connected to the spool to dampen rotation of the spool when retracting the cable as the panel moves from the open position to the closed position.

A mount for mounting a sign to the post of an associated structure includes a base element fixedly mounted to the post that defines a hinge region and a base plane, and a support arm having a shoulder mounted at the shoulder to the base element. The support arm is pivotable about the base element between a first position parallel to the base plane and a second position transverse to the base plane. A pair of springs extend between and connect the base element and the support arm. The base element and the support arm are engaged with one another, and are maintained engaged with one another, only by the tension of the springs.

A biased-assisted sign mounting system is for mounting a sign to a structure, that includes a vertical upright post having a face having a plurality of vertically extending, spaced apart openings. The mounting system includes a spine adapted to mount to the vertical post. The spine has a face portion. Upper and lower sign mount portions are mounted to the spine. At least one of the mount portions has a biasing element securing portion. Upper and lower arms are mounted to respective upper and lower sign mount portions. The arms each have a pivot defining collinear axes. One of the upper and lower arms has a biasing element securing portion. A biasing element operably connects one of the arms to its respective mount portion such that the arm is pivotal between first and second positions and is biased toward the first and second positions by the biasing element. A floating insert mounts the spine to the upright. The floating insert has a body portion for engaging the spine and the upright, and for spacing the spine face from the upright face. The floating insert has a latch portion disposed in the body that is engageable with the upright to secure the floating insert to the upright. The latch includes a fastener extending therefrom that is engageable with the spine to secure the spine to the floating insert. When the floating insert is engaged with the upright and the latch fastener is engaged with the spine, the spine is secured to the upright with the face portion of the spine spaced from the face of the upright.

A mount for securing an associated object such as a sign to a supporting structure having wall defining an opening therein and having an outer surface and an inner surface, includes a mounting element adapted to receive the object. The mounting element has a body having an opening therein that is defined by edges. The opening has a predetermined shape. The body has a pair of resilient fingers extending rearwardly from the body. The fingers define portions of the edges of the opening in the body. A wedge has a base and a pair of resilient legs depending from the base. The wedge has a predetermined shape adapted for receipt in the body opening. The legs each have a notch formed therein. The mounting element is positioned with the resilient fingers in the supporting structure wall opening with the fingers locked to the supporting structure wall and the wedge is received in the body opening to interfere with the mounting element fingers flexing inward, securing the mounting element to the support structure.

An adjustable, channel-mount system for mounting a sign to a shelf includes a spring-loaded mounting bracket having a mounting portion moveably connected to a sign-holding portion and an elongated sign-holder. The sign-holding portion of the mounting bracket features at least one channel. At least one securing element configured for engagement with the at least one channel of the sign-holding portion of the mounting bracket is included on a back surface of the sign-holder.

Adjustable channel-mount sign mounting system

A cover can be moved easily for access behind where the cover had been, and easily restored to its original position, without having to unattach and reattach the cover. In one example, cable guides and an edge of a coupled net can be moved in a vertical direction to allow access to shelving without disconnecting them from the shelving structure, and can be moved in the opposite direction to the original position. The cable guides can direct two cables between opposing sides of the shelving structure in that example.
