A niobium-silicide based alloy and a turbine having at least a turbine component formed from the niobium-silicide based alloy are provided. The niobium-silicide based alloy comprises: between about 14 atomic percent and about 24 atomic percent titanium (Ti); between about 11 atomic percent and about 19 atomic percent silicon (Si); between about 4 atomic percent and about 8 atomic percent chromium (Cr); between about 2 atomic percent and about 6 atomic percent hafnium (Hf); up to about 4 atomic percent aluminum (Al); between about 0.5 atomic percent and about 1 atomic percent tin (Sn); between about 5 atomic percent and about 15 atomic percent tantalum (Ta); between about 1 atomic percent and about 5 atomic percent tungsten (W); up to about 5 atomic percent rhenium (Re); up to about 5 atomic percent zirconium (Zr); up to about 6 atomic percent yttrium (Y); and a balance of niobium (Nb).

A method for fabricating a component of with an additive manufacturing system include entraining a first portion of first material particles in an airflow generated by a vacuum source and engaging the first portion of the first material particles against an air permeable screen. The first portion of the first material particles is deposited onto a build platform. The method also includes entraining a second portion of second material particles in the airflow and engaging the second portion of the second material particles against the air permeable screen. The second portion of the second material particles is deposited onto the build platform. An energy source transfers heat to at least a portion of at least one of the first portion of the first material particles or the second portion of the second material particles to facilitate consolidating material particles to fabricate the component.

An infrared imaging device includes a case, a plurality of electronic components, and a heat transfer structure. The plurality of electronic components is configured to collect data and have a predetermined temperature parameter. The plurality of electronic components is disposed within the case. The heat transfer structure is disposed within the case. The heat transfer structure is configured to conduct heat away from the plurality of electronic components. The heat transfer structure is further configured to regulate a temperature of the electronic components below the predetermined temperature parameter.

The system includes a powder bed configured for containment within a build chamber, wherein the powder bed is formed from a mixture of a build material and a bonding agent. A method of fabricating an airfoil includes forming a tip portion and imaging a second end of a body portion to obtain image data of one or more mortises formed therein. One or more tenons are formed on the first end of the tip portion using the image data of the second end of the body portion. The one or more tenons are manufactured using one of additive or subtractive manufacturing techniques. To complete assembly, the first end of the tip portion is positioned relative to the second end of the body portion such that each of the one or more tenons of the tip portion align with and are in sliding engagement with a respective one of the one or more mortises of the body portion. The body portion and the tip portion are coupled together such that the tip portion and the body portion form the airfoil. An airfoil formed by the method is also disclosed.

An apparatus and method for rapid screening of material properties in a plurality of additively manufactured test specimens. The apparatus includes a build plate having the plurality of additively manufactured test specimens disposed on a first substantially planar surface. The plurality of additively manufactured test specimens are coupled to at least one actuator to one of individually or simultaneously translationally displace each of the test specimens along an axis 'z', and perpendicular to the build plane of the build plate to test material properties of each of the plurality of additively manufactured test specimens. A sensor is coupled to each of the plurality of additively manufactured test specimens. Load vs. displacement data may be used to monitor the progression of monotonic and/or cyclic tests of the plurality of additively manufactured test specimens.
