Materials, components, assemblies, and methods consistent with the disclosure are directed to the fabrication and use of sheets of material to provide channels for cooling through the flow of gas. An assembly for cooling can include a stack of alternating first and second blades, where each blade exhibits at least a first edge, a beveled edge, and a bend, the bend defining at least a first region and a second region, where the first region is substantially flat and bordered by the edge, the beveled edge, and the bend. An assembly can also include a sheet with folds to provide channels.

Materials, components, and methods consistent with the present invention are directed to the fabrication and use of micro-scale channels with a fluid, where the temperature and flow of the fluid is controlled through the geometry of the micro-scale channel and the configuration of at least a portion of the wall of the micro-scale channel and the constituent particles that make up the fluid. Moreover, the wall of the micro-scale channel and the constituent particles are configured such that collisions between the constituent particles and the wall are substantially specular.

Method and apparatus for control of fluid temperature and flow

Materials, components, and methods consistent with the disclosure are directed to the fabrication and use of micro scale channels with a gas, where the micro channel can include a base () and a side (), where the base and the side can be configured to form at least a portion of an inflow opening, and an outflow opening. The micro channel can be configured to accommodate a flow of the gas from the inflow opening to the outflow opening in a first direction substantially perpendicular to a cross section of the micro channel. The side can have a thickness in a range 0.5 &#x3bc;m and 500 &#x3bc;m, where the micro channel with a thickness in a range 0.5 &#x3bc;m and 500 &#x3bc;m is formed, in part, by providing the side on the base.

In an embodiment, an A-B-A structure, can comprise: a core layer comprising a first thermoplastic material having a first density (Y), wherein the core layer has a core thickness and wherein the core layer comprise at least one of (i) a through plane thermal conductivity of greater than equal to 0.1 W/m K, and (ii) a core layer density (X) that is X&#x2265;0.8Y; a first outer layer comprising a second thermoplastic material located on a first side of the core layer; and a second outer layer comprising the second thermoplastic material located on a second side of the core layer opposite the first side; wherein the core thickness is 30% to 75% of a total thickness of the A-B-A structure.

Materials, components, and methods consistent with the disclosure are directed to the fabrication and use of micro scale channels with a gas, where the micro channel can include a base (110) and a side (120), where the base and the side can be configured to form at least a portion of an inflow opening, and an outflow opening. The micro channel can be configured to accommodate a flow of the gas from the inflow opening to the outflow opening in a first direction substantially perpendicular to a cross section of the micro channel. The side can have a thickness in a range 0.5 &#x3bc;m and 500 &#x3bc;m, where the micro channel with a thickness in a range 0.5 &#x3bc;m and 500 &#x3bc;m is formed, in part, by providing the side on the base.

In one embodiment, a connector assembly comprises: a connector; and a pair of side collectors, each comprising a connector engagement region having a size and geometry to mate with the connector so as to hold ends of two adjacent panels together; and a panel engagement region comprising a receiving area and having a size to attach onto an edge of the panel; and a clip, wherein the clip has a base that can be attached to a support, an engagement, and a stem extending therebetween, wherein the engagement has an extension projecting from a side of the engagement, wherein the panel engagement region further comprises an opening in a joint wall on a side of the panel engagement region opposite the receiving area, wherein the opening is configured to receive the extension of the engagement.

A sterilized article comprising a hydrogen peroxide plasma or hydrogen peroxide vapor sterilized polymer composition, the polymer composition comprising from 20 to 80 weight % of a polyphenylene ether sulfone; and from 20 to 80 weight % of a polyetherimide. When sterilized with a hydrogen peroxide plasma, or hydrogen peroxide vapor, the articles have surprisingly improved resistance to changes in color and clarity as well as resistance to loss of mechanical properties.

A sterilized article comprising a sterilized or hydrogen peroxide vapor-sterilized polymer composition, the polymer composition comprising a polyetherimide, wherein after exposure to 100 cycles of the hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilization using a mixture of hydrogen peroxide vapor and hydrogen peroxide plasma for 30 minutes at 20 to 55&#xb0; C., the color of the polymer composition of the article exhibits a color shift of delta E of 10 units or less relative to the color of the polymer composition color before the first hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilization cycle, wherein delta E is measured in accordance with ASTM D2244.

A method of forming a layered article, the method comprises thermoforming a substrate sheet to form a shaped substrate, wherein the shaped substrate is a fiber-reinforced plastic material having a void content sufficient to allow a vacuum to be applied through the shaped substrate; pulling a vacuum through the shaped substrate; and pulling a film layer onto a surface of the shaped substrate to form the layered article.
