A wiping assembly for a fluid ejection device includes a sled slidably movable relative to the fluid ejection device. The wiping assembly further includes a length of wiping material. An indicator slidably coupled to the wiping assembly is included. The indicator changes position relative to the wiping assembly and restricts movement of the wiping assembly to an initial position to indicate a level of usage of the wiping material.

According to an example, a supply reel may contain a web material sheet and a take-up reel that is to pull the web material sheet from the supply reel. A static web material applicator may be positioned in a feed direction of the web material sheet from the supply reel to the take-up reel. The web material sheet may slide over the web material applicator as the web material sheet is fed from the supply reel to the take-up reel. In addition, the web material applicator may cause the web material sheet to wipe a surface of a fluid ejection device.

Low-profile service stations for use with printers are described herein. One example service station includes a shuttle to support a cap sled. The shuttle has a shuttle drive and a pump drive positioned such that at least one of the shuttle drive and the pump drive does not extend between a first side and a second side of the shuttle. The shuttle drive is coupled to a printer drive to move the shuttle between a first position and a second position.

A wiping assembly includes an endless belt and a plurality of rollers about which the belt is mounted. A first roller mounts a first end of the belt adjacent a first end of a belt zone while a second roller is adjacent at an opposite, second end of the belt zone. A third roller mounts a second end of the belt and is located at an intermediate position along a first orientation between the respective first and second ends of the belt zone. The third roller is translatable along the first orientation while the first roller and the second roller are non-translatable along the first orientation. The third roller is biased toward the first end of the belt zone to apply tension on the belt.

Wiping assembly for a fluid ejection device

A method includes applying a nominal back pressure to a fluid ejection assembly and nozzles to form a first amount of back pressure therein by a back pressure regulator. The method also includes applying a first pressure to lower the first amount of back pressure within the fluid ejection assembly and the nozzles to form a second amount of back pressure therein by a pressurization module in response to an activation of a cleaning operation. The method also includes moving at least one of the fluid ejection assembly and a wicking member against each other to perform the cleaning operation. The wicking member moves relative to the fluid ejection assembly against and across the nozzle surface to transfer fluid residue from at least one of the nozzle surface and the nozzles to a portion of the wicking member to form a used wicking member portion.

A fluid cartridge for a printing device includes a housing including a floor, a chamber defined in the housing and configured to store an ink therein, a capillary medium disposed in the housing and in operative communication with the chamber, and a wick disposed at least partially in an opening of the floor, the wick including a portion extending a predetermined distance into the housing such that the wick portion contacts the capillary medium. The fluid cartridge further includes an enriched pigment-confining member established inside the housing such that the confining member physically contacts the floor and surrounds at least a portion of a periphery of the wick. The confining member is configured to i) block enriched ink from the wick, and/or ii) dilute the enriched ink prior to flowing through the wick.

Apparatus and methods are provided for use with printers and imaging apparatus. An actuator is supported on a shaft about which it can rotate through a range of arc. A spring biases the actuator so as to bring a valve pad into sealing contact with a plurality of nozzles. A lever arm of the actuator is operable by way of force contact so as to rotate the actuator and angularly displace the valve pad out of contact with the nozzles. Simultaneous opening or closing of the nozzles is performed by way of corresponding angular displacements of the actuator.
