Safe transport of shaped charges

A technique facilitates performance of a gravel packing operation and desired zonal isolation. An apparatus, e.g. a sliding sleeve shunt tube isolation valve, may be deployed downhole and configured to facilitate a gravel packing operation and zonal isolation. By way of example, the apparatus contains a conduit which in an open position allows the flow of gravel pack slurry and in a closed position creates a barrier. In the closed position, upper and lower portions of the conduit are isolated from one another. When the apparatus is coupled with a packer and sand screens, the apparatus serves to create complete zonal isolation in, for example, an open hole alternate path system.

Systems and methods for monitoring a position of a service tool in a wellbore are provided. The service tool can have a sensor assembly coupled thereto and be positioned within the wellbore. The service tool can be moved within the wellbore. The distance travelled by the service tool in the wellbore can be measured with the sensor assembly. The position of the service tool in the wellbore can be determined by comparing the distance travelled to a stationary reference point.

Method and apparatus for performing a series of downhole operations. The method can include conveying a work string with an integrated valve into a wellbore. As the work string with the integrated valve is conveyed into the wellbore, the valve can be in a first operation mode. When the valve is located within the wellbore, the valve can be adjusted to a different operation mode by selectively rotating at least a portion of the valve without longitudinal movement of the valve relative to the wellbore.
