Described is an intrinsically multiplexed magnetostatic surface wave (MSSW) device comprising of a pair of transducers that couple to one or more plurality of ferrite films. In embodiments, the ferrite films may be provided as one or more of a YIG, Nickle Zinc Ferrite, Lithium Ferrite configured to simultaneously provide the MSSW device having an associated plurality of MSSW operational bandwidths. The concepts, structure and technique described herein may be used to provide broadband magnetostatic surface wave devices that employ intrinsic multiplexing techniques which enable customizable frequency responses over broad bandwidths.

Described is a frequency selective limiter (FSL) module comprising a cascade of an FSL and a functional limiter (e.g. a conventional semiconductor limiter comprising a PIN diode) with steady state limiting and power threshold values selected such the FSL module provides suppression of a spike leakage power and while still enabling frequency selective limiting.

Described is a frequency selective canceler, which uses signals reflected from a reflective element (e.g. a frequency selective limiter) to selectively reject only signals having a power level above a threshold power level while simultaneously allowing signals having a power level below the threshold power level to pass without rejection.

A magnetoelectric pickup device for use with a stringed musical instrument combines magnetostriction and the piezoelectric effect to detect a combination of magnetic field oscillations produced by a vibrating ferromagnetic string and acoustic vibrations from the body of the instrument itself. The result is a sound reproduction that preserves the natural acoustic timbre of the instrument.
