A parking space monitoring system, with multiple microprocessors for handling various parking space management conditions, including at least one of the following conditions: (1) Space Occupancy (vehicle detection); (2) Parking Meter Status; (3) Display of Parking Policy to Motorists; (3) Motorist User Interactions; (4) Maintenance User Interactions; (5) Radio Communications with a Central management system and Network; and (6) Coordination of the operation between various ones of the microprocessors.

Apparatus for controlling and monitoring vehicle parking meter systems, including programmable single space parking meters each having a hardened shell, a vehicle detection sensor for detecting presence of a vehicle, multiple low power microprocessors associated with each parking meter capable of waking up to perform a specialized task, an application processor connected to each of the microprocessors for monitoring and controlling changes in logic for setting the operational parameters and awakening the microprocessors, wherein the microprocessors, the application processor and the vehicle detection sensor are located within the hardened shell, a centralized operational controller accessible to parking personnel capable of monitoring and controlling the parking meters from a remote location, a pass-through radio frequency communication device capable of passing messages from the controller to and from each of the parking meters by way of the internet, and a power supply powering the application processor, microprocessors and vehicle detection sensor.

Gen II meter system

Apparatus for controlling and monitoring vehicle parking meter systems wherein a plurality of programmable single space parking meters enable the resetting of time upon a vehicle departure and the occurrence of any other operational parameter; multiple low power microprocessors for monitoring and initiating changes in the logic for all the devices monitoring the parking meter spaces; a plurality of specialized microprocessors for monitoring the system to assure reliable operation thereof; a master operational microprocessor connected to each of the additional low power microprocessors for monitoring of and control of any changes in the logic to establish new operating parameters for the low power microprocessors; a centralized operational controller accessible to parking personnel to monitor and control the space monitoring units from a remote location; a pass-through radio frequency communication device for passing messages from the centralized operational controller to and from each space monitoring unit by way of the internet; and a power supply comprising a rechargeable battery receiving a charge from any combination of high energy density-low current battery and/or a solar panel mounted onto the power supply.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide robotic control modules for use in a robotic control system of a vehicle, including structures, systems and methods, that can provide (i) a robotic control module that has multiple functional circuits, such as a processor and accompanying circuits, an actuator controller, an actuator amplifier, a packet network switch, and a power supply integrated into a mountable and/or stackable package/housing; (ii) a robotic control module with the noted complement of circuits that is configured to reduce heat, reduce space, shield sensitive components from electro-magnetic noise; (iii) a robotic control system utilizing robotic control modules that include the sufficiently interchangeable functionality allowing for interchangeability of modules; and (iv) a robotic control system that distributes the functionality and processing among a plurality of robotic control modules in a vehicle.

A radar parking detection system with a Ultra Wide Band (UWB) detection and transmission system including a hardened radar device placed in the vicinity of a parking space to be monitored by using measurements of time delays observed in the reflection of radio waves reflected from objects in the proximity of the transmitted waves and further including a hardened electronic sensor using (UWB) frequencies to determine the presence or absence of a vehicle in the parking space at close range; and a radio transmitter using multiple data transmission to limit the amount of lost data and to communicate changes in status of the parking space.

Radar vehicle detection system

An emergency lighting system includes a plurality of emergency lights and a plurality of emergency power systems. Each of the plurality of emergency power systems is electrically connected to a respective one of the plurality of emergency lights through a respective one of a plurality of power switches. The emergency lighting system also includes a plurality of processors. Each of the plurality of processors is electrically connected to a respective one of the plurality of emergency power systems and executes software that monitors a status of a respective one of the emergency power systems and controls a state of the plurality of power switches. The emergency lighting system also includes a plurality of radio transceivers. Each of the plurality of radio transceivers is electrically connected to a respective one of the plurality of processors and communicates with other radio transceivers in the plurality of radio transceivers that are in radio wave proximity. In addition, a gateway node radio transceiver routes signals to and from the plurality of radio transceivers.
