An arrangement is provided for monitoring the plantar temperature of the foot having a platform with at least two multi-layer temperature sensitive pads that measure the temperature of a sole of a user's feet. The platform has a scanner for scanning the bottom of the user's feet that produces a digital image thereof. A printed circuit board supports remote connectivity to a mobile application that transmits the scanned digital image of the users' feet to the mobile application for storage and delivery to a physician. The arrangement includes the mobile application that provides a series of diagnostic questions and prompts to the user and is configured to transmit data including the scanned images of the user's feet to a physician.

System and method for self monitoring for risk factors for the development of foot ulcerations in a population of people with diabetes

The present arrangement provides a system for managing diabetic foot care patients that include a communication interface for transmitting diagnostic forms to a doctor device and receiving input from the doctor device. A processor manages the transmissions and received input and a database storing the diagnostic forms and the received input, as well as pre-stored risk assessment guidelines. The system is configured to transmit the diagnostic forms to a doctor device for guiding a comprehensive foot exam, and further, to accept doctor input including at least a plurality of foot examination details and a risk pool assessment. The system compares at least a plurality of foot examination details against the pre-stored risk assessment guidelines and confirms or reject the risk pool assessment input by the doctor if the risk pool assessment is or is not congruent with requirements contained in the pre-stored risk assessment guidelines.

A measuring device () is used for generating an imprint of a patient's foot. The imprint includes a first set of at least two differentiable color density markings. The first set of differentiable density markings each correspond to a different pressure exerted on the measuring device by different areas of the patient's foot. A calibration card () is provided with an indicia including a set of at least two differentiable density markings. A shoe insole-midsole device configured to fit the profile of the human foot with a distinctive toe end and a distinctive heel. The midfoot section of the insole/midsole device is characterized by an asymmetrical domed structure that is presented to the plantar aspect of the foot at a location found to be the anatomical apex of the foot's arch system. The domed structure displays physical properties such as to catalyze muscle group balancing by utilizing the body's proprioceptive feedback mechanisms. Cushion to provide tripodal support at the three gait points of the human foot to alleviate pedal dysfunction and associated leg discomfort resulting from pregnancy, obesity, spinal deformity and the like. The cushion comprises support cushions positioned at points corresponding to the locations of the posterior calcaneus, the calcaneal-cuboid region and the base of the first metatarsal bone of a human foot. The support cushions are made of polymeric foam having a density greater than that of a surrounding insole and are positioned to form an obtuse triangle of support that directs the forces generated by walking across the foot so as to provide a near functionally perfect gait. The cushions may be separately adhered to the sock lining within a shoe or formed as part of an insole for temporary or permanent placement in incorporation as part of a shoe construction.
