A crankshaft damper for attachment to one end of a crankshaft of an engine. The crankshaft damper includes an elastomeric member attached to a hub, and an inertia ring connected to the hub through the elastomeric member. Several different structures for cooling the elastomeric member are disclosed that dissipate heat away from the elastomeric member. Air flow is induced near the elastomeric member by providing air flow openings in the inertia ring or the elastomeric member.

The present subject matter relates to improved damping fluid mount devices, systems, and methods in which a damping fluid mount () includes an inner member (), an elastomer section () that is affixed to an outer surface of the inner member (), and a cup () containing viscous fluid (). The elastomer section () has an outer diameter that is variable along an elastomer contour, and a crimped portion of the cup is radially crimped into the elastomer section () such that the crimped portion precompresses the elastomer section () and substantially mimics the elastomer contour.

An aircraft vehicular assembly is provided that includes a nonelastomeric outer tubular member having an inner axial center bore with a tubular cylindrical frictional interface contiguous smooth inner surface segment, and a nonelastomeric inner member having an outer bonding surface segment. The nonelastomeric inner member is rotationally received in the outer member inner axial center bore with the nonelastomeric inner strut member rotatable within said outer member. The assembly includes an elastomer encompassing the nonelastomeric inner strut member outer bonding surface segment. The elastomer has an inner bonding surface segment and an outer grooved elastomer surface, the inner bonding surface segment is bonded to the nonelastomeric inner member outer bonding surface segment. The assembly includes a grease disposed between the outer elastomer surface and the nonelastomeric outer member frictional interface inner surface segment with the greased grooved outer elastomer surface engaging the nonelastomeric outer member frictional interface inner surface segment and inhibiting an oscillating rotation.

The invention provides an aircraft with an auxiliary power unit isolated from the aircraft. An auxiliary power unit suspension system includes at least one suspension linkage. The suspension linkage terminates with a first low stiffness elastomeric rod end. The low stiffness elastomeric rod end has a low spring rate with the aircraft auxiliary power unit suspension system providing the aircraft auxiliary power unit with a suspended auxiliary power unit natural frequency, the suspended auxiliary power unit natural frequency below the aircraft auxiliary power unit operation frequency.

Center-bonded mounts for resiliently connecting a supported structure to a support structure are assembled from members that are adapted to disproportionately affect the axial and radial stiffness of the mount. Each of the members includes a shoulder portion for engaging an opposite side surface of the support structure and a neck portion that extends within a socket formed through the support structure. The shoulder portion of one member disproportionately affects the downward axial stiffness of the mount, and the neck portion of the other member disproportionately affects the radial stiffness of the mount. A mount stiffness characteristic of the individual members can be varied, and the varied members can be interchangeably combined to provide both a greater selection and a greater range of axial and radial stiffness characteristics for a given part count.

The present invention is directed to an elastomeric sandwich mount for connecting a motorcycle engine to a motorcycle frame. The mount includes an elastomeric member having first and second ends and including a body portion. An interior wall of the elastomeric member defines a cavity therein. The cavity defines a cavity axis extending between the first and second ends. The cavity is axially asymmetric. First and second end plates are secured to the first and second ends of the elastomeric member, respectively. Preferably, the body portion has a substantially cylindrical outer surface.
