A maintenance bypass (MBP) system for an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) includes a first switch having at least three positions that provide different couplings of a power source, a load, a power input of a UPS and a power output of a UPS and including a first contact set configured to indicate at least one transition between positions of the at least three positions. The system further includes a second switch configured to enable transition of the first switch between at least two of the positions and including a second contact set configured to indicate actuation of the second switch. The first switch may include a rotary switch and the second switch may include a pushbutton switch.

UPS maintenance bypass systems using mode signaling

A power supply system includes a housing comprising internal power circuitry; a receptacle panel removably coupled to the housing; and a circuit interrupter, such as a circuit breaker or fused disconnect switch, held in the housing. The circuit breaker includes a switch handle that is externally accessible and configured to allow a user to translate the switch handle between OFF and ON positions, the OFF position associated with electrical isolation of the power receptacle panel from a power output path between the receptacle panel and the internal power circuitry. In the OFF position, even when the power supply system is in an ON state, the receptacle panel is in electric isolation from the internal power circuitry and de-energized to thereby allow a user to remove the receptacle panel to thereby allow a hot swap with another receptacle panel.

Uninterruptible power supplies with replaceable receptacle panels and related methods

A system includes a converter unit and a power distribution unit (PDU) having at least one power outlet, a first power port configured to be coupled to an AC power source and second power port coupled to the converter unit. The PDU is further configured to selectively provide power to the at least one outlet from the first and second power ports. The PDU may include a power strip with an elongate enclosure and a plurality of receptacles at a face of the enclosure, and the converter may include a rack mountable converter unit coupled to the power strip by a power cable and a communications cable. The rack mountable converter unit may include an inverter and a battery.
