Printed electronic devices are provided. Protective layers for high-yield printed electronic devices

A media transport system for conveying sheets of media along a process path extending from a media-uptake zone and thereafter through a print zone. The system includes a transport belt for holding the sheets of media generally flat via vacuum for ink jet printing. The media transport system includes a seamed vacuum transport belt, and a platen supporting the belt. The belt comprises a partially-conductive coating having a surface resistivity of from about 10to about 10ohms per square on a polymeric substrate. The partially-conductive coating comprises a polyester and a conductive component such as carbon black, and optionally includes a plasticizer and a leveling agent. The polymeric substrate is either a thermoplastic or a thermoset material.

Ink-jet printing systems

Disclosed herein are methods for reducing drooling, wetting or adhesion on a front face of an inkjet printhead configured for ejecting aqueous ink. The methods including disposing an anti-wetting, low adhesion coating onto a surface of the inkjet printhead front face, wherein the anti-wetting, low adhesion coating is a reaction product of a reactant mixture including a triisocyanante and a perfluoropolyether diol compound having an ethyoxylated spacer; and ejecting a drop of an aqueous ink having a surfactant from the printhead, wherein the aqueous ink drop exhibits a contact angle of greater than about 40&#xb0; and a sliding angle of less than about 30&#xb0; with a surface of the coating on the inkjet printhead front face.

Anti-wetting, low adhesion coatings for aqueous ink printheads

Exemplary embodiments provide anti-wetting, low adhesion coatings for use with aqueous ink jet printheads. Exemplary embodiments directed to aqueous ink jet printheads with the anti-wetting, low adhesion coating on the front face thereof and methods for reducing drooling, wetting or adhesion on a front face of an ink jet printhead configured for ejecting aqueous ink are also described.

A cast-in reflective timing patch for a belt such as an intermediate transfer belt of a printing device. The timing patch is formed during manufacturing of the belt. As such, the presence, quality, location, and alignment of the timing patch is fixed and inspection and monitoring of the timing patch is no longer required.

A system and apparatus are provided for adhering steering ribs to an intermediate transfer belt (ITB). These steering ribs (one or more) are applied to the ITB by placing the rib material around a cylindrical fixture. The rib material is held in place by a vacuum that is applied to the rib material to hold it against the fixture. An ITB may be separately held in place on the fixture by another vacuum until the rib material is adhered to the inside surface of the ITB through application of compressed air to force the rib material outward against the ITB. Once the rib material is adhered to the ITB, a series of apertures directs compressed air against the rib and the ITB to release them from the fixture.
