A vehicle seat recliner and folding latch assembly is provided. The assembly generally includes a lower quadrant disk, a slide pin sub-assembly and a recliner disk. The slide pin sub-assembly is supported on the lower quadrant disk for pivotal displacement between a first position and a second position. The recliner disk is supported for pivotal displacement on the slide-pin sub-assembly. The recliner disk includes an engagement edge engaging the slide pin sub-assembly. The engagement edge is adapted to lock the slide pin sub-assembly in the first and second positions.

Round recliner assembly with rear folding latch

A vehicle seat recliner and folding latch assembly is provided. The assembly generally includes a lower quadrant disk, a slide pin sub-assembly and a recliner arm. The slide pin sub-assembly is supported on the lower quadrant disk for pivotal displacement between a first position and a second position. The recliner arm is supported for pivotal displacement on the slide-pin subassembly. The recliner arm includes an engagement edge engaging the slide pin sub-assembly. The engagement edge is adapted to lock the slide pin sub-assembly in the first and second positions.

A latch assembly adapted for use in a vehicle having a movable member, a fixed member, and a striker fixed to one of the movable and fixed members. The latch assembly is adapted to be connectable to the other of the movable and fixed members and to selectively couple the movable member to the striker. More particularly, the latch assembly of the present invention includes a housing, a latch and a release cam coupled to the housing, spring means, and a release mechanism. The housing includes a striker opening adapted to accommodate the striker. The latch is operable in a latched position when the latch assembly is in a latched mode wherein the latch is adapted to couple the striker to the housing and in an unlatched position when the latch assembly is in an unlatched mode wherein the striker is freely movable relative to the housing. The release cam is operable in an engaged position wherein the release cam urges the latch toward its latched position and in a released position wherein the latch is operable in its unlatched position. The spring means urges the release cam toward its engaged position and the latch toward its unlatched position. Finally, the release mechanism is operable for selectively moving the release cam from its engaged position to its released position.

Chuck-free latch assembly

A latch assembly for use in a vehicle having a movable component such as an upper seat frame member and a fixed component such as a lower seat frame member. The latch assembly is operable to allow selective movement of the movable component relative to the fixed component. The latch assembly includes a first frame member adapted to be fixed to the fixed component of the vehicle seat and a second frame member adapted to be fixed to the movable component of the vehicle. The second frame member is coupled to the first frame member for movement between a first operative position, such as a set position, and a second position such as a titled position. The latch assembly also includes a locking mechanism, a release mechanism, a spring, and a lockout cam. The locking mechanism is coupled to one of the first and second frame members for movement between a locked mode to lock the second frame in its first operative position and an unlocked mode wherein the second frame member is freely movable relative to the first frame member. The release mechanism is operable in a biasing mode to operatively engage the locking mechanism and exert a first biasing force urging the locking mechanism toward its locked mode and a released mode removed from operative engagement with the locking mechanism. The spring exerts a second biasing force that urges the locking mechanism toward its locked mode. The second biasing force is less than the first biasing force so that the locking mechanism is urged towards its locked mode when the release mechanism is in its biasing mode and into its unlocked mode when the release mechanism is in its released mode. The lockout cam is operable in a blocking position to maintain the locking mechanism in its unlocked mode when the second frame member is in its first operative position and a retracted position wherein the locking mechanism is movable from its unlocked mode to its locked mode.
