Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to predict a gain state for an initial acquisition procedure. For example, the UE may use a machine learning (ML) model to predict an initial gain state which is likely to result in a successful initial acquisition procedure (e.g., without adjusting the gain state and reattempting the initial acquisition procedure). The UE may input UE history data or crowdsourced data (e.g., from a local network or a cloud-based server) into the ML model to generate a predicted gain state which may be more likely to result in a successful initial acquisition (e.g., without reattempting the initial acquisition procedure). The UE may use the initial gain state generated by the ML model to attempt an initial acquisition procedure with a network entity.

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a UE determines a completion time associated with a communication event for a wakeup period, the wakeup period characterized by at least radio frequency (RF) circuitry being set to an active state. The UE schedules a transition from the wakeup period to a sleep period at the completion time, the sleep period characterized by at least the RF circuitry being set to an inactive state. The UE performs the communication event during the wakeup period. The UE transitions from the wakeup period to the sleep period at the completion time in accordance with the scheduling. The UE determines, after the transition from the wakeup period to the sleep period, a wakeup time associated with a next wakeup period.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for time division duplex configuration override. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes detecting a period during which a configuration of a first radio access technology (RAT) conflicts with a configuration of a second RAT for a frequency band; and overriding the configuration of the second RAT with the configuration of the first RAT for the period.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may wake up from a sleep mode of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle based on receipt of uplink data. The UE may determine if an elapsed time between a prior receipt of one or more reference signals and an uplink transmission to the base station after waking up from the sleep mode is less than a threshold time value. If the elapsed time is less than the threshold time value, the UE may transmit an uplink transmission associated with the received uplink data prior to receiving one or more reference signals that may be used to update transmission parameters for uplink transmissions. If the elapsed time is at or above the threshold value, the UE may wait to receive the one or more reference signals and update the transmission parameters prior to the uplink transmission.

Discontinuous reception wakeup techniques

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, configuration information indicating a set of component carriers (CCs) associated with the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, a message that activates or deactivates one or more CCs of the set of CCs. The UE may communicate, with the base station, after receiving the message, using one or more activated CCs of the set of CCs over a tuned radio frequency (RF) bandwidth that is based on receiving the message and based on the one or more activated CCs. A user equipment (UE) may monitor a channel for wireless communication associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) during one or more of a first active duration or a first inactive duration. The UE may operate in a first power mode during the first inactive duration. The UE may monitor the channel for wireless communication associated with a second RAT during one or more of a second active duration or a second inactive duration. The UE may operate during the second inactive duration in one or more of the first power mode or a second power. The UE may operate according to the first mode or the second mode based on the monitoring of the channel associated with the first RAT and the second RAT.

Techniques for managing a radio transceiver chain for multiple radio access technologies

A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a discontinuous reception (DRX), e.g., connected mode DRX (CDRX), and the UE may select a synchronization signal block (SSB) set to perform an SSB warm-up to wake up, search, and measure the SSB set to improve the performance of the UE during a DRX ON duration. The UE may select the SSB set based on a time difference of the SSB set relative to the DRX ON duration. The UE may be configured to wake up to measure one of a first SSB set or a second SSB set having a smaller time difference relative to the DRX ON duration.

A method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting an uplink message to a first base station associated with a first radio access technology (RAT). The method also includes transmitting one or more scheduling requests (SRs) to a second base station associated with a second RAT to trigger a connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRX) ON period. The method further includes receiving a downlink message from the second base station during the CDRX ON period in response to transmitting the uplink message to the first base station.

A multi-antenna user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using a first antenna, determine to switch from the first antenna to a second antenna for communicating with the base station, determine a silence window in which communication with the base station is suspended, schedule the switch from the first antenna to the second antenna to occur during the silence window, and switch from the first antenna to the second antenna during the silence window.
