A toy apparatus includes a base piece having a distal end, a movable elongated member having a first end and a second end, and a tether coupled to the first end of the movable elongated member. Tension applied to the tether moves the movable elongated member from an open first position to a closed second position. The toy apparatus is configured to freely slide on a surface due to momentum generated when an initial pushing force is applied to the toy apparatus. The tension applied to the tether causes the tether to become taut, without other human contact to the toy apparatus. In the closed second position, the second end of the movable elongated member is closer to the distal end of the base elongated member, and the base elongated member and the movable elongated member are capable of retaining a target piece.

Toy apparatus

A toy apparatus includes a base piece configured to slide on a surface when an initial pushing force is applied to the toy. A base elongated member is coupled to the base piece, and has a distal end away from the base piece. A movable elongated member has a first end and a second end, and is movable between an open first position and a closed second position. A tether is coupled to the first end of the movable elongated member, wherein tension applied to the tether moves the movable elongated member. In the open first position, the second end of the movable elongated member is away from the distal end of the base elongated member. In the closed second position, the second end is closer to the distal end, and the base elongated member and the movable elongated member are capable of retaining a target piece.

A toy vehicle has a frame pivotally supporting for side to side movement, front and rear carriages each having at least one road wheel to support and steer the vehicle. A steering control member is slidably supported between the carriages and moved sided to side by a steering actuator subassembly to simultaneously pivot facing ends of the carriages in the same lateral direction to steer the vehicle in the opposing lateral direction. The actuator subassembly simultaneously moves the vehicle body and a structure that simulate a pair of eyes in a front windshield area to simulate animated responses of the toy vehicle.

A linking toy segment for pivotal securement to another linking toy segment is disclosed herein, the linking toy segment having: a base structure; an actuatable device secured to the base structure, the actuatable device being capable of movement from a first position to a second position; a first coupling member secured to the base structure and extending away from the base structure in a first direction, the first coupling member being configured to be pivotally received on top of another coupling member; a second coupling member secured to the base structure and extending away from the base structure in a second direction, the first direction being different from the second direction, the second coupling member being configured to be pivotally secured underneath another coupling member; a trigger moveably secured to the base structure proximate to either the first coupling member or the second coupling member, the trigger being pivotally mounted to the base for movement between a first position and a second position; and wherein the actuatable device is moved from the first position to the second position when the trigger is moved from the first position to the second position.
