A tiller is for controlling a marine drive. The tiller has a base bracket assembly and a tiller arm which is extends outwardly from the base bracket assembly. The base bracket assembly is configured to facilitate yaw adjustment of the tiller arm, in particular into and between a variety of yaw positions relative to the base bracket assembly. The tiller arm has a grip restraining device which is located on the bottom of the middle portion of the tiller arm and is manually accessible from both sides of the tiller arm. The grip restraining device is specially configured to selectively restrain rotation of a hand grip on the outer end of the tiller arm. The tiller arm also has a tilt mechanism which facilitates tilting of the tiller arm relative to the base bracket assembly into and between a variety of tilt positions, including a straight upward tilt position and a straight downward tilt position.

An apparatus is for operably connecting a marine drive to a marine vessel. A transom bracket is configured for fixed attachment to the marine vessel and for attachment to the marine drive such that the marine drive is trimmable up and down relative to the marine vessel about a trim axis. The transom bracket has a sidewall with a rigging opening through which at least one elongated rigging member extends for operably connecting the marine drive to the marine vessel, wherein the rigging opening is located along the trim axis. The rigging device has an elbow conduit with an inlet end and an outlet end, wherein the outlet end is positionable into a plurality of clock positions relative to the inlet end.

An outboard motor has a mounting assembly, a powerhead, a transmission, and a shift shaft that extends from the powerhead to the transmission via a conduit in the mounting assembly. The shift shaft is positionable into a forward position in which the transmission is engaged in forward gear, reverse position in which the transmission is engaged in reverse gear, and a neutral position in which the transmission is in neutral gear. In the forward position, an upper end of the shift shaft is positioned closer to a forward side of the conduit than the aftward side of the conduit. In the reverse position, the upper end of the shift shaft is positioned closer to an aftward side of the conduit than the forward side of the conduit. In the neutral position, the upper end of the shift shaft is positioned between the forward and reverse positions.

An elongated exhaust conduit comprises a first end receiving hot exhaust gas from a marine engine and a second end discharging the exhaust gas. An elongated cooling water jacket extends adjacent to the exhaust conduit. The cooling water jacket conveys the raw cooling water adjacent to the exhaust conduit to thereby cool the exhaust conduit and warm the raw cooling water therein and discharges the warmed cooling water to cool the marine engine. The cooling water jacket comprises first and second channels that are separate from each other. The cooling water is oriented in a helical flow around the exhaust conduit.

Idle relief mufflers are configured to discharge exhaust gases from an outboard motor to atmosphere surrounding the outboard motor when an internal combustion engine of the outboard motor is operated at idle and at low speeds. The idle relief mufflers comprise a housing having an open interior, an inlet port configured to convey the exhaust gases to the open interior, and an outlet port configured to discharge the exhaust gases from the open interior. An exhaust grommet is connected to the outlet port. The exhaust grommet comprises a body that is configured to engage with a cowl of the outboard motor and an extension that extends through the outlet port and protrudes into the open interior. The extension and the body together define a through-bore that is configured to convey the exhaust gases from the open interior to the atmosphere.

A marine propulsion system comprises an internal combustion engine, a cooling circuit carrying cooling fluid that cools the internal combustion engine, a sump holding oil that drains from the internal combustion engine, and a heat exchanger receiving the cooling fluid. The oil that drains from the internal combustion engine to the sump passes through and is cooled by the heat exchanger.

An outboard motor includes an internal combustion engine, a driveshaft housing, a molded adapter plate connecting the internal combustion engine and the driveshaft housing; and an elongated exhaust conduit conveying hot exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine, the exhaust conduit extending from a first end portion located proximate to the internal combustion engine to a second end portion located proximate to the driveshaft housing. The exhaust conduit and adapter plate are separate components.

Preferably, the power tool is a circular saw. The circular saw further comprises a switch assembly supported on the handle for movement with the handle and means for connecting the switch to the motor to accommodate movement of the switch relative to the motor. The switch assembly is electrically connectable to the motor and selectively connects the motor to a power source, and the connecting means includes a wiring arrangement. The circular saw further comprises a locking assembly for locking the handle in a position relative to the housing. Also, the circular saw preferably comprises means for preventing the switch assembly from connecting the motor to the power source when the locking assembly is in the unlocked condition and means for preventing the locking assembly from being operated from the locked condition to the unlocked condition when the switch assembly is in the operated condition.
