A dehumidification system includes a primary evaporator, a primary condenser, a secondary evaporator, a secondary condenser, a superheat control evaporator, and a modulating valve. The superheat control evaporator is disposed parallel to the secondary evaporator and is configured to receive one of the inlet airflows and output a first airflow to the primary evaporator. The secondary evaporator is configured to receive another one of the inlet airflows and output a second airflow to the primary evaporator. The primary evaporator receives the first and second airflows and outputs a third airflow to the secondary condenser. The secondary condenser receives the third airflow and outputs a fourth airflow to the primary condenser. The primary condenser outputs a dischargeable airflow. The modulating valve directs the flow of refrigerant to the secondary condenser or to the primary evaporator, depending on the mode of operation.

Parallel evaporator coils for superheat control for a dehumidification system

A dehumidification system includes a primary evaporator, a primary condenser, a secondary evaporator, a secondary condenser, a superheat control evaporator, and a modulating valve. The system is further configured to output a first portion of the refrigerant to a first downstream HVAC component at a fixed flow rate using the fixed expansion device. The system is further configured to apply a first force to a pin of the variable expansion device based on a sensed temperature. The system is further configured to apply a second force to a valve of the variable expansion device via the force applied to the pin and to output a second portion of the refrigerant to a second downstream HVAC component at a variable flow rate based on the second force using the valve of the variable expansion device.

Parallel flow expansion for pressure and superheat control

A dehumidification system includes a compressor, a primary evaporator, a primary condenser, a secondary evaporator, a secondary condenser, a modulating valve, and a liquid-cooled alternate condenser. Portable dehumidifier

A dehumidifier drainage system includes a primary drain pan and a secondary drain pan. The primary drain pan is disposed at least partially below an evaporator. The primary drain pan includes one or more raised ribs that are configured to at least partially block air flowing across the primary drain pan as the air flows into the evaporator. The secondary drain pan is disposed at least partially between the evaporator and the primary drain pan. The secondary drain pan includes one or more downspouts. Each downspout is configured to funnel water condensed from the evaporator into an area of the primary drain pan that is at least partially surrounded by one of the raised ribs.
