Systems and methods of the present invention allow to determine ambient gas temperature in harsh environments such as in a steam autoclave chamber during a sterilization process. In certain embodiments of the invention, temperature data is gathered using a sensor that is placed in an enclosed electronics-based temperature logging device. A capsule seals the temperature logging device except for a through hole that, during regular operation, allows gas to directly contact a surface of the temperature logging device in order to reduce a time lag between the data logging device and an ambient gas. As a result, the data logging device accurately can track temperature variations when placed, for example, inside a chamber.

Systems and methods for logging data in harsh environments

A power supply module implemented within a first device and including a voltage regulator and an authentication module. The voltage regulator receives power from a power source and supplies the power to devices within the first device. The power source is separate from the power supply module. The authentication module includes a regulator module and a generation module. The regulator module controls operation of the voltage regulator based on operation in one of multiple operating modes. The generation module: receives an authentication request signal from a host device; in response to the authentication request signal, transmits an authentication response signal to the host device; and receives a notification signal from the host device based on the authentication response signal. The notification signal indicates whether the power supply module is an authorized device. The regulator module is configured to transition between the operating modes based on the notification signal.

System and method for monitoring network devices incorporating authentication capable power supply modules

Presented are systems, devices, and methods for reliably authenticating asymmetric cryptography-based ICs based on Physically Unclonable Functions (PUFs) that are immune to reverse engineering. Various embodiments of the invention enhance the level of security in IC architectures without the need to connect to a remote certification authority, thereby, eliminating shortfalls associated with online authentication. Certain embodiments accomplish this by using a PUF-generated secure private key that need never be output by or exported from the PUF.

Systems and methods for authentication based on physically unclonable functions

An integrated circuit package comprising an enclosure including a dielectric housing, a first electrical contact, and a second electrical contact. The dielectric housing, the first electrical contact, and the second electrical contact are configured to form a contact side of the enclosure. In addition, the first and second electrical contacts are sized to be substantially alignment insensitive for electro-mechanical connection to corresponding contacts of an end-use equipment. The enclosure encapsulates an integrated circuit die which is electrically coupled to the first and second electrical contacts. The alignment insensitive first and second electrical contacts may be electro-mechanically connected to corresponding contacts of an end-use equipment (e.g., a printer). Further, the integrated circuit package may be hosted by a peripheral device (e.g., a printer cartridge).

An apparatus for monitoring the condition of a battery. The apparatus includes a battery clip that is used to secure a battery to a battery connection and a battery monitoring IC. The battery monitoring IC takes a &ldquo;load vs. no-load measurement&rdquo; and the results are recorded in a register. When the battery reaches a certain low voltage state, register bits are set and an output is generated. Furthermore, the exemplary embodiment includes a removal detection circuit for detecting removal and replacement of the battery and for preventing voltage floating on the battery output line.
