According to one example, a system for a knee arthroplasty that can optionally comprise: a femoral prosthesis having a joint facing surface and an opposing bone facing surface, wherein the femoral prosthesis has one or more attachment elements at or adjacent the bone facing surface; and one or more features selectively attachable with the femoral prosthesis via the one or more attachment elements, wherein the one or more features comprise one of a box, a stem, or a combination of the box and the stem.

Knee prosthesis system and method

A femoral augment, or set of augments, for use with a knee joint prosthesis, where the femoral augment includes a main body portion, an aperture formed within the main body portion and extending in a generally distal/proximal direction, and a pair of legs extending outwardly from said main body portion in a generally posterior direction. In the preferred embodiment, the aperture is configured to receive a stem extension implant, and to allow it to pass through. Additionally, the legs of the femoral augment are preferably configured to be seated proximal of a proximal side of a pair of condylar portions of a femoral component of a knee joint prosthesis. The present invention is intended for situations in which the distal portion of the femur is defective, and it provides a method and devices that allow for preservation of healthy peripheral bone, while still providing the necessary augmentation to the distal portion of the femur.

Femoral augments for use with knee joint prosthesis

An impactor tool can include a handle, an impactor, a lock, an actuator, and a pin. The impactor can be coupled to the handle. The lock can be extendable from the impactor to engage an implant and retractable into the impactor to secure the lock and the impactor to the implant. The actuator can protrude from the impactor and can be coupled to the lock. The actuator can include a cam defined by a channel extending through the actuator. The pin can be coupled to the lock and disposed within the cam channel, where the actuator can be operable along a path defined by the cam and the pin to extend and retract the lock.

Tibial tray impactor

An orthopedic tibial prosthesis includes a tibial baseplate with features designed for use with small-stature knee-replacement patients. The tibial prosthesis may include a shortened tibial keel, tibial keel fins which define a large angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the keel, and/or tibial keel fins which extend along less than the entire longitudinal extent of the keel.

A tibial augment for use with a knee joint prosthesis, composed of annular members of different stock sizes, each size being configured to fit within a cavity formed in a human tibia. The augment may include a stepped distal surface. A provisional (temporary) tibial augment used to ensure a proper fit for the permanent augment is also provided. The provisional may include grooves configured to cooperate with a set of ribs on a tong-like holder used for removing the provisional from the cavity. A pusher for use implanting the tibial augment is also provided. In addition, a system for creating a cavity in a human tibia is also described. The system preferably includes a guide with a slot therein and a set of osteotomes that are inserted within different portions of the slot.

An assembly system configured to seat a first orthopedic component having either a male taper or a female taper with a second orthopedic component having the other of a male taper or a female taper. In one embodiment, the assembly system includes a taper seating connector having a fastener and a bushing moveable retained on the fastener. The fastener may be connected to the first orthopedic component and the bushing may be positioned adjacent the second orthopedic component. The corresponding tapers on the first and second orthopedic components may be configured to secure the first and second orthopedic components together. Thus, by exerting a sufficient force on the bushing, the bushing will move along the fastener, transferring the force to the second orthopedic component. In this manner, the corresponding tapers of the first and second orthopedic components may be seated.
