A recessed light fixture includes an LED module, which includes a single LED package that is configured to generate all light emitted by the recessed light fixture. For example, the LED package can include multiple LEDs mounted to a common substrate. The LED package can be coupled to a heat sink for dissipating heat from the LEDs. The heat sink can include a core member from which fins extend. Each fin can include one or more straight and/or curved portions. A reflector housing may be coupled to the heat sink and configured to receive a reflector. The reflector can have any geometry, such as a bell-shaped geometry including two radii of curvature that join together at an inflection point. An optic coupler can be coupled to the reflector housing and configured to cover electrical connections at the substrate and to guide light emitted by the LED package.

A lighting system can comprise a light emitting diode that emits light, an optic mounted to process the emitted light, and an aperture disposed on the light-emitting side of the optic. The optic can comprise a cavity that receives the light. A portion of the received light can pass through a sidewall of the cavity, while another portion passes through a bottom of the cavity and out a front of the optic. The optic can comprise curved sides that receive the light passing through the cavity sidewall and reflect that light through the front of the optic. This reflection can condense the light to form a light beam having a beam waist. The beam waist can provide an annular separation or a radial gap between the beam of light and the aperture, with the separation providing clearance to avoid interference with the light beam.

A lighting system includes a chip scale package light emitting diode mounted to a substrate and covered by an optic. The chip scale package light emitting diode has six faces with the top face and the four side faces operative to emit light and the bottom face oriented toward the substrate. The optic includes a lower face with a cavity in which the chip scale package light emitting diode is at least partially disposed.

A signal guide for a sensor device is disclosed herein. The signal guide can include a base having a first proximal aperture, where the first proximal aperture has a first cross-sectional profile, where the first proximal aperture is configured to be disposed proximate to a first transceiver element of the sensor device. The signal guide can also include a body disposed adjacent to the base, wherein the body comprises a first main channel that adjoins the first proximal aperture. The signal guide can further include a distal end disposed adjacent to the body opposite the base, where the distal end includes a first distal aperture that adjoins the first main channel, where the first distal aperture has a second cross-sectional profile, where the first distal aperture is configured to be disposed proximate to an ambient environment.

Controlled signals using signal guides for sensor devices

A signal guide for a sensor device is disclosed herein. The signal guide can include a base having a number of proximal apertures, where at least one of the proximal apertures is configured to be disposed proximate to at least one transceiver of the sensor device. The signal guide can also include a body disposed adjacent to the base, where the body includes at least one main channel, where the at least one main channel is configured to transmit at least one signal between the at least one main channel and the proximal apertures. The signal guide can further include a distal end disposed adjacent to the body opposite the base, where the distal end includes at least one distal aperture, where the at least one distal aperture is configured to transmit at least one signal between the a main channel and an ambient environment.

A gasket for an interface between a light emitting diode (LED) and a light emitting panel (LEP) includes a first segment and a second segment. The gasket also includes a first blade extending out from a surface of the first segment and a second blade extending out from a surface of the second segment. The surface of the first segment faces the surface of the second segment.

A color control user interface can include a controller, a display area, and a three-dimensional shape generated by the controller and disposed in the display area. The three-dimensional shape can include a first axis that represents a first range of selections for a first color factor, a second axis that represents a second range of selections for a second color factor, and a third axis that represents a third range of selections for a third color factor. A control engine of the controller can be configured to receive user selections having a first selection of the first color factor, a second selection of the second color factor, and a third selection of the third color factor. The control engine can also be configured to compare the user selections to light source information stored in memory, and send commands via a transceiver to at least one light source.

A lighting system can comprise an edgelit panel, for example a lightguide that may have a panel or slab shape with an edge that receives light from an array of light emitting diodes extending along the edge. The lightguide can guide the received light towards an opposing edge of the lightguide and gradually release light to provide illumination. An optic can manage light that reaches the opposing edge of the lightguide, for example via softening, spreading, concentrating, or diffusing the light. The optic can be mounted to or integrated in the opposing edge of the lightguide.

A lighting system can comprise an edgelit panel, for example a lightguide that may have a panel or slab shape with an edge that receives light from an array of light emitting diodes extending along the edge. The lightguide can guide the received light towards an opposing edge of the lightguide and gradually release light to provide illumination. An optic can manage light that reaches the opposing edge of the lightguide, for example via softening, spreading, concentrating, or diffusing the light. The optic can have a tubular shape and may have lengthwise extending features for light management.

An edge-lit waveguide and macro optic hybrid structure includes a waveguide segment having a light receiving surface and a light emitting surface. The light receiving surface and the light emitting surface are on opposite sides of the waveguide segment. The edge-lit waveguide and macro optic hybrid structure also includes a macro optic segment integrally formed with the waveguide segment. A light emitting surface of the macro optic segment extends out beyond the waveguide segment on a side of the waveguide segment.
