A computer implemented method, computer program product, and system for managing execution of a workflow comprising a set of subworkflows, comprising optimizing the set of subworkflows using a deep neural network, wherein each subworkflow of the set of subworkflows has a set of tasks, wherein each task of the sets of tasks has a requirement of resources of a set of resources; wherein each task of the sets of tasks is enabled to be dependent on another task of the sets of tasks, training the deep neural network by: executing the set of subworkflows, collecting provenance data from the execution, and collecting monitoring data that represents the state of said set of resources, wherein the training causes the neural network to learn relationships between the states of said set of resources, the said sets of tasks, their parameters and the obtained performance, optimizing an allocation of resources of the set of resources to each task of the sets of tasks to ensure compliance with a user-defined quality metric based on the deep neural network output.

Various embodiments include systems and methods of operating the systems that include operation of a plurality of first nodes and second nodes in response to a request, where each first node is a first type of processing unit and each second node is a second type of processing unit, where the second type of processing node is different from the first type of processing node. Each of the first and second nodes can be operable in parallel with the other nodes of their respective plurality. Each second node may be operable to respond to the request using data and/or metadata it holds and/or operable in response to data and/or metadata from one or more of the first nodes. Method and system for 3-D imaging of subterranean geologic structures based on seismic data interpretations involves correcting mis-ties that arise as a result of orthogonal polylines failing to intersect due to inconsistencies in seismic interpretations. In some embodiments, the mis-ties may be corrected by adding a data point from one polyline at or near the mis-tie to the other polyline, and vice versa for the other polyline. The two data points are then adjusted so they coincide or merge. The merged data point is then used as intersection points for the polylines and associated with one another such that a change made to one intersection point is automatically made to the other intersection point. In some embodiments, one or more neighboring data points on each polyline are adjusted to smooth out the polyline at the point of the corrected mis-tie.

Retrieving seismic data by a data server. At least some of the illustrative embodiments are methods including: retrieving a seismic data slice from a seismic data volume, the datums logically organized in parallel layers, the retrieving by: sending a request for the seismic data slice from a client computer to a data sever over a network connection, the request spans at least a quarter of the layers in the seismic data volume, and the data server is remote from the client computer; extracting data values associated with the seismic data slice from the seismic data volume by the data server; sending, by the data server, datums residing within the seismic data slice, the sending such that at least some cache lines of a processor of the client computer filled responsive to the request comprise datums that span more than one layer; and then rendering the seismic data slice on a display device.

Method and system for 3-D imaging of subterranean geologic structures based on seismic data interpretations involves converting multi-Z polylines into single-Z line segments. The single-Z line segments have slopes that are either positive or negative and do not change signs. As a result, no point along the line segment has more than one value in Z. The single-Z line segments may then be grouped or assembled into lattices that may then be used to form single-z horizons. Such a method and system arrangement provide a far more efficient and less processing intensive way to render 3-D images of the geologic structures compared to existing solutions.
