A woven fabric for a fiber web producing machine has a defined machine direction, a cross machine direction, a web facing side, and a machine side. The web facing side is formed by MD yarns that extend substantially in the machine direction and by CD yarns extending substantially in the cross machine direction of the woven fabric. The MD yarns and CD yarns are interwoven with each other and the woven fabric is configured to structure the fiber web produced on the woven fabric. A plurality of adjacent long flotations of MD yarns on the web facing side form together a discrete element that is raised on the web facing side for allowing the woven fabric to structure the fiber web. The term 'long flotation' means that the MD yarn passes over at least six adjacent CD yarns on the web facing side of the woven fabric.

Structured fabric with discrete elements

A woven fabric for use in a machine to produce a fiber web, such as a tissue fiber web, has a paper side formed by interwoven warp yarns and weft yarns. The paper side has a plurality of twill lines formed by neighboring flotations of warp yarns. The twill lines have an MD vector component in a machine direction and a CD vector component in a cross machine direction. At least some twill lines are diagonal, with a CD vector component being unequal to zero. The diagonal twill lines include first diagonal twill lines with CD vector components that have an opposite sign to the CD vector components of second diagonal twill lines. A sum of all CD vector components of the first diagonal twill lines is substantially balanced with a sum of all CD vector components of the second diagonal twill lines.

Woven structured fabric with crossing twill lines

A woven fabric for use in a machine to produce a fiber web, such as a tissue fiber web. A paper side of the fabric has warp yarns and weft yarns interwoven in a weave pattern, and twill lines, each formed by neighboring warp yarn flotations. Each warp yarn flotation of the weave pattern that contributes to the formation of the twill lines passes over a first weft yarn, which passes over a first warp yarn that directly neighbors the warp yarn flotation on a first side and passes below a second warp yarn that directly neighbors the warp yarn flotation on a second side opposite the first side. The warp yarn flotation also passes over a second weft yarn that directly neighbors the first weft yarn, and the second weft yarn passes below the first warp yarn and over the second warp yarn.

A woven fabric is used in a machine to produce a fiber web. The woven fabric has a machine direction, a cross machine direction, a paper side and a machine side. The paper side is formed by interwoven warp yarns and weft yarns. The paper side contains a plurality of twill lines, each twill line being formed by a plurality of neighboring flotations of warp yarns. The twill lines contain an MD vector component directed in the machine direction and a CD vector component directed in the cross machine direction. At least some twill lines are diagonal twill lines meaning that the CD vector component is unequal to zero. The plurality of diagonal twill lines contains first diagonal twill lines and second diagonal twill lines, the CD vector components of the first diagonal twill lines have an opposite sign to the CD vector components of the second diagonal twill lines.

A papermaking fabric for fibrous web forming or processing machines extends in MD and CD-directions and includes top and bottom fabric layers bound by binder yarns. The top layer is a web contacting side with top weave structures having interwoven first MD and first CD-yarns. The bottom layer is a machine contacting side with bottom weave structures having interwoven second MD and second CD-yarns. The top weave structure has repeats and forms fiber compression areas and fiber support areas recessed in thickness direction of the fabric relative to the fiber compression areas on the web side and fiber support areas separated by fiber compression areas or vice versa. A fiber compression area has adjacent top MD-floats on the web side or adjacent top CD-floats on the web side and a fiber support area has first MD and first CD-yarns interwoven in plain weave.

Papermaking fabric

A forming fabric for a papermaking machine has a machine facing side and a web facing side. The web facing side has a structured weave of warp yarns and weft yarns that define pockets on the web facing side. Each pocket is defined by four sides on the web facing side, three of the four sides each being formed by a knuckle of a single yarn, and one of the sides being formed by a knuckle of a weft and of a warp yarn, wherein the weft yarn also defines a bottom surface of the pocket.

A woven-fabric belt for a fibrous web machine includes longitudinal and cross threads forming crossing points, top and bottom sides and a seam segment. Each longitudinal thread has end segments with ends. A segment is formed by weaving end segments with cross threads. Some end segments follow a weaving path with the cross threads, along which an end segment forms floats on the sides in alternation in direction of the thread end and a float is disposed on the bottom side between two adjacent floats on the top side and vice versa. A last float before the thread end is formed on one side and the end segment switches from one side to the other following the last float before the thread end. The end segment is bonded to a cross thread at one thread crossing point in one float lying before the last float in the weaving path.

Paper forming fabric

A papermaking machine for the production of a fibrous web including a plurality of rollers and a structured fabric moving along the rollers. The structured fabric includes a plurality of weft yarns and a plurality of warp yarns woven with the plurality of weft yarns to produce a weave pattern, the plurality of warp yarns being a plurality of paired warp yarn sets. Each paired warp yarn set including a first warp yarn and a second warp yarn. Within the weave pattern the first warp yarn forms a float over at least four weft yarns and weaves with a single weft yarn immediately adjacent with the float. The second warp yarn having an inverse pattern to the first warp yarn, with the second warp yarn weaving with another single weft yarn that is not adjacent to the single weft yarn with which the first warp yarn is woven.

Structured fabric for use in a papermaking machine and the fibrous web produced thereon

The present invention provides a multilayer multiaxial woven fabric for a papermachine having a reduced interference pattern and accordingly improved dewatering uniformity. The present invention also provides a method of forming such multilayer multiaxial fabric.

Multiaxial fabrics

A structured fabric for use with a papermaking machine for the production of a fibrous web. The structured fabric includes a plurality of weft yarns and a plurality of warp yarns. The plurality of warp yarns interact with the weft yarns to produce a weave pattern. The plurality of warp yarns include a first set of warp yarns and a second set of warp yarns. The first set of warp yarns are woven as a plain weave. The second set of warp yarns form an impression layer. The first set of warp yarns are in a first plane, the second set of warp yarns have a surface in a second plane. The second plane is positioned farther from the machine facing side of the fabric than the first plan to form the impression layer. The first set of warp yarns have a first cross-sectional area and the second set of warp yarns have a second cross-sectional area. The first cross-sectional area is less than the second cross-sectional area.

A papermaking machine for the production of a fibrous web. The papermaking machine including a plurality of rollers and a structured fabric moving along the plurality of rollers. The structured fabric includes a plurality of weft yarns and a plurality of warp yarns woven with the plurality of weft yarns to produce a weave pattern. The plurality of warp yarns are a plurality of paired warp yarn sets, each paired warp yarn set including a first warp yarn and a second warp yarn. Within the weave pattern the first warp yarn weaves a plain weave while the second warp yarn floats over a first portion of the plurality of weft yarns. The second warp yarn weaving a plain weave while the first warp yarn floats over a second portion of the plurality of weft yarns in the weave pattern.

A structured fabric for use in a papermaking machine for forming a web of fibrous material includes a repeating weave pattern that includes a plurality of warp yarns, warp knuckles, weft yams and weft knuckles that form two different types of pockets each of which include a plurality of margins and a bottom and is open on the web-facing side are formed between the knuckles, wherein the weft yarns have a first group, but not the second group, that form weft knuckles and the second group, but not the first group, form at least part of the bottom of the pockets formed.

A structured papermaking fabric for making a bulky tissue web, including: a web facing side and an opposite side, the web facing side including a structure formed by interweaving of transverse yarns with longitudinal yarns, the structure including a plurality of pattern areas being regularly distributed on the web facing side and each of said pattern area being surrounded by an edge area, said pattern areas are woven in a plain weave and each of said edge areas including at least one longitudinal and at least one transverse edge segment, said longitudinal edge segment being formed by weaving of a longitudinal yarn over at least four, preferably at least five, consecutive transverse yarns, said transverse edge segment being formed by weaving of a transverse yarn over at least four consecutive longitudinal yarns.
