Systems and methods for facilitating conversion of a page description language (PDL) representation of a correspondence to an accessible format are provided. According to one embodiment, a correspondence is received in a form of an input file represented in a PDL. Text strings and corresponding coordinates indicative of points at which the text strings are positioned within a printable area of a page of the correspondence or an electronic equivalent thereof are extracted from the input file. Information is received indicative of multiple groups of the text strings. Each group is processed in accordance with an associated rule selected from multiple rules to create an output file in which the text strings within a given group of the plurality of groups are excluded or included within an element of the output file based on application of the associated rule to the given group.

Facilitating conversion of a page description language representation of a correspondence to an accessible format

Systems and methods are provided for address verification support. One embodiment includes a print server. The print server includes an interface that receives a print job comprising multiple mail pieces which each include an address of record from a client, and a controller that processes the print job according to a first workflow of the print server accessible by a first set of operators, detects address anomalies within the mail pieces by accessing an address verification system of a delivery entity, generates a second workflow that is for handling a mail piece having an address anomaly and is accessible only by a second set of operators distinct from the first set of operators, and confirms that the address of record for the mail piece in the second workflow has been updated based on input from the second set of operators.

Systems and methods for repositioning processing of presentation data stream by a presentation device from user defined boundaries. A user may define customizable boundaries, such as mail-piece boundaries when printing mail, chapters when printing books, as well as additional boundaries that logically group or divide a data stream. The user defined boundaries are inserted into the presentation data stream. The operator does not need to guess or go through trial and error processes to determine the reposition point of the data stream. Rather, features and aspects herein allow repositioning of processing of the data stream to occur from user defined boundaries that result in the data stream reposition occurring at uniform restarting points of the data stream. This allow existing repositioning capabilities such as those provided by z/OS 'backspace' and 'forward space' commands to always land on a mail piece or other appropriate boundary.

A record is encoded with a mask definition, wherein the mask definition describes which one or more portions of the record are to be hidden. A request to display the encoded record is received. Methods, systems, and apparatus for generating and associating meta-data with a final form presentation datastream document where the meta-data is structured in accordance with the datastream component architectures. Meta-data objects ('MDOs') are architected as components of a presentation document and thus are well defined to allow applications to reliably access and process the meta-data contained therein. The MDOs may be associated with other components of the document and are architected to be extensible and flexible while still adhering to an architectural structure. The MDOs may be descriptive (no affect in document presentation) or operational (affects document presentation if processed). Standard types of MDOs may include XML standard information, JDF standard information, PWG standard information, and digital signature information. A variety of standard categories further define typical meta-data forms and applications thereof.

A printer is disclosed. The printer includes one or more sub-systems having a capability of a different magnitude of operation based on print job properties and a controller. The controller includes a monitor to track a first operation time for each of the sub-systems during printing of a first print job and track a second operation time for each of the sub-systems during printing of a second print job.

Mechanism for tracking print system energy usage

Methods and systems herein provide for securely advancing continuous form media including pre-printed sensitive elements. A command is identified for advancing the media without imprinting on the sensitive elements. A security image is identified for voiding the sensitive elements. The security image is then imprinted on the sensitive elements as the media is advanced to void the sensitive elements. Embodiments include detecting a Non Process Run Out (NPRO) command at a printer for advancing the media without imprinting the sensitive elements, and imprinting the security image onto the sensitive elements as the media is advanced to void the sensitive elements. Further embodiments include detecting that a print job includes a blank logical page for advancing the media without imprinting the sensitive elements, and imprinting the security image onto the sensitive elements as the media is advanced to void the sensitive elements.

Provided are a method, system and program for checking and conditional processing of a print job printed with multiple transfer media. A print job indicates first print content to print using a first transfer medium and second print content to print using a second transfer medium. The first print content is printed onto a print medium with the first transfer medium. The printed first print content is read to determine whether the printed first print content satisfies a quality requirement. The second print content is printed onto the print medium with the second transfer medium in response to determining that the quality requirement is satisfied. Information is printed indicating an error on the print medium in response to determining that the print quality requirement is not satisfied.

Checking and conditional processing of a print job printed with multiple transfer media

Systems, methods and program products for automatically generating authenticated electronic receipts at a point-of-sale terminal for both merchants and customers. These electronic receipts can then be used in place of paper receipts for expense accounting, for tax purposes, for routing to accounting and taxation departments, and for real-time analysis of cash-flow and budgeting. The invention prevents loss of paper receipts, always provides a legible receipt, removes employee subjectivity, provides extensive transaction details, removes entry errors, reduces physical storage requirements, promotes continuous expense tracking and eases expense-reporting procedures. In addition, the point-of-sale terminal can integrate the electronic receipt with other available coded data and information about the method of payment such as an image of the check, or the serial number of the paper currency bills used. The other available coded data can make categorization of the data for separation into budget, accounting, or tax categories easier.
