A game for a gaming machine having a plurality of different items to be selected by a player, each item having a value in an amount preset for a given bonus round, and a respective initial quantity in a preset amount. The player selects an item, such as one of many items for purchase in a store, and the value for that item is registered, along with subtraction of a unit from the quantity of that item. Provided that the quantity for that item selected is not then zero, the player continues to select another item, with registration of the value for that item and subtraction until an item is selected thereby having a zero quantity.

A gaming machine and method for operating the same has gameplay elements provided in a manner that can be visualized, with the gameplay elements having a specific nature which is revealed to the player at a beginning to the game. That is, the player knows the value, or ranking, or position, etc., of the gameplay elements upon inception of the game. A system and method for implementing a gaming machine with connected tiles is presented. In an embodiment, a wager is received. A game with a playfield having a tile base and a plurality of tile locations is executed. The tile locations of the playfield are populated with tiles having (i) differing subsets of symbols thereon and (ii) a connection path to the tile base. Some initially-hidden symbols are presented, and a selection of one of them is received and revealed. Any tiles in the playfield having a symbol matching the selected symbol are removed, along with any remaining tiles that no longer have a connection path to the tile base. These selection and removal steps are repeated according to a game methodology. The playfield is evaluated for an outcome. An award is presented in the event that the outcome in the game merits an award according to the game methodology.

A Bingo game, method, and elimination tournament is provided. In one embodiment, the present invention may take the form of a Bingo elimination tournament played by players wagering on respective networked gaming machines in a casino environment. The Bingo elimination tournament may include a plurality of successive Bingo games (rounds) carried out according to standard Bingo methodology, including randomly-drawn numbers being called out, and players' respective Bingo cards being updated (e.g. marked) accordingly, perhaps along with one or more computer-player cards. After each tournament round, among the cards that have not achieved a Bingo during that round, the card or cards having the fewest number of matched numbers are preferably eliminated. Successive rounds are played, often resulting in a single winner of the tournament. Various wagering options are provided for added excitement and enjoyment.

A plurality of linked gaming machines are disclosed that enhance the community participation and enjoyment of a game on multiple gaming machines. Players participate in an interactive game, either simultaneously, alternatively or in a systematic sequence, as a group or community. The participating players compete in the game such that the actions and results of each player affect the other players in the community. The interactive game combines skill and luck to improve play of the game. The interactive game could be a bonus game which players need to qualify in order to participate. If a player does not qualify, a wager can be placed to participate in the game. Players with different wagers can participate in the same game and players can wager on the outcomes of other players.

A game is comprised of a plurality of stages. Each operation of the game begins with the operation of a first stage. Depending on the outcome of the first stage the game may be over, or there may be an operation of a second stage. Each stage of the game may typically have its own paytable or payout scheme, and its own expected return. A variation of this game is also shown which uses the same paytable on each stage, but combined with a mechanism to increase the 'hit' rate. A third embodiment is a Draw poker game that combines the concepts of the Stud poker embodiment with the decisions and optimal play analysis that are integral to Draw poker. The fourth embodiment is a dice game which has been adapted to provide a high dependency between the first stage and the next stages.

Gaming machines are disclosed having a basic mode defining a plurality of reels and a bonus mode defining a plurality of stations about a game board (e.g., MONOPOLY board) traversable by a token identifier. The disclosure describes a plurality of play features for the basic and/or bonus modes including (1) a feature allowing the player to select a game token; (2) a feature allowing the player to predict and wager on landing position(s) of the token identifier; (3) a feature allowing the player to obtain deferred-execution instruction(s) which are exercisable by the processor to override later-issued instruction(s) otherwise to be executed by the processor; (4) a feature in which movements of the token identifier are determined according to movement tables corresponding to the various stations of the game board; (5) a feature in which escalating bonuses are awarded for reaching a designated bonus square (e.g., the 'GO' square); (6) a feature in which bonuses are awarded for completing groups of stations (e.g., color groups); and (7) a feature in which the gaming machine includes two bonus modes, each entered upon certain symbol combinations in the basic game. The first bonus game provides an award selected from a plurality of fixed values and multipliers, and the second bonus game moves a token identifier on a game board and provides an award determined by the landing station of the token identifier.
