A method is provided for processing data to replicate lifecycle threads in the development of a structural product. The method includes defining a source lifecycle thread from process-related information for development of the structural product, and defining and matching a target lifecycle thread to the source lifecycle thread. The process, and source and target lifecycle thread are expressible as respectively a network and sub-networks of tasks described by a plurality of attributes. Defining and matching the target lifecycle thread includes selecting a plurality of candidate target tasks from the plurality of tasks; matching a candidate target task to a particular source task using a distance map for an attribute of the plurality of attributes, with the distance map including only unique values of the attribute and distances between the unique values; and back-chaining through the source lifecycle thread to match candidate target tasks with respective source tasks.

A method is provided for processing data to establish lifecycle threads in the development of a structural product. The method includes defining a source lifecycle thread from process-related information for development of the structural product, and defining and matching a target lifecycle thread to the source lifecycle thread. The process, and source and target lifecycle threads are expressible as respectively a network and sub-networks of tasks described by a plurality of attributes. For defining either or each of the source lifecycle thread or target lifecycle thread, the method includes at least receiving user selection of an attribute of the plurality of attributes as user-selected criteria, performing a cluster analysis according to the user-selected criteria to produce a plurality of clusters of candidate tasks from the plurality of tasks, and selecting tasks from the plurality of clusters of candidate tasks for the source/target lifecycle thread.

Processing data to establish lifecycle threads in the development of a structural product

A method is provided that includes receiving process-related information describing a logical sequence of tasks to produce respective internal products of a process for production of a product. At least some of the tasks have a precedence relationship whereby the internal product produced by one task is an input utilized or required by another task. The method includes for at least some of the tasks, separating each of the at least some of the tasks into a closure portion that requires availability of the last input of its task before being initiated, and a distinct precursor portion capable of being initiated before the respective last input is available; and constructing a schedule for execution of the at least some of the tasks. Construction of the schedule includes temporally sequencing the closure portions of the respective tasks without intervening precursor portions, and prepending the precursor portions to respective, temporally-sequenced closure portions.

System for modeling production of a product

Technologies are described herein for automating a selection of data inputs. Some technologies are adapted to select a product that is a component part of a segment. The technologies select an external product that is utilized for production of the segment and an external component of the external product. If the name of the external component matches a name of the product, then the technologies add the external component as an external input to the product. The technologies also select an internal product that is utilized for the production of the segment and an internal component of the internal product. If the name of the internal component matches the name of the product, then the technologies add the internal component as an internal input to the product.

Methods and systems for correspondence pattern automation of scalable feed forward processes

Technologies are described herein for generating a three-dimensional display. Some technologies are adapted to retrieve a model defining a feed-forward network related to a development process. The technologies generate a first three-dimensional shape representing each internal product according to the model. The technologies also generate a second three-dimensional shape representing each dependency of each internal product corresponding to each first three-dimensional shape. The technologies further generate a third three-dimensional shape representing each component of each dependency corresponding to each second three-dimensional shape.

A method is provided that includes receiving process-related information describing a process for production of a product, including a logical sequence of tasks to produce respective internal products of the process. The method also includes constructing a schedule for the process based on the process-related information, with the process schedule being for execution of at least some of the tasks each of which utilizes or requires inputs including temporally a last input.
