A wall scanner that includes a housing, a plurality of sensors, a display, and a control section. The housing includes a handle portion and a body portion. The handle portion is adapted to receive a removable and rechargeable battery pack such as a high-voltage lithium-ion ('Li-Ion') battery pack. The body portion of the housing encloses the plurality of sensing devices, such as capacitive plate sensors for sensing the presence of a stud behind a surface, a D-coil sensor for identifying the presence of metal behind the surface, and a non-contact voltage sensor. The display is configured to display the location of an object behind the surface in real-time, the depth of an object behind the surface, and whether an object behind the surface is ferrous or non-ferrous. The control section includes actuation devices for controlling the functions and operations of the wall scanner, such as the scanning mode.

Wall scanner

Embodiments of the invention relate to a wall scanner that includes a housing, a plurality of sensors, a display, and a control section. The housing includes a handle portion and a body portion. The handle portion is adapted to receive a removable and rechargeable battery pack such as a high-voltage lithium-ion ('Li-Ion') battery pack. The body portion of the housing encloses the plurality of sensing devices, such as, for example, capacitive plate sensors for sensing the presence of a stud behind a surface, a D-coil sensor for identifying the presence of metal behind the surface, and a non-contact voltage sensor for detecting the presence of live wires carrying AC currents. The display is configured to display, among other things, the location of an object behind the surface in real-time, the depth of an object behind the surface, and whether an object behind the surface is ferrous or non-ferrous. The control section includes a plurality of actuation devices for controlling the functions and operations of the wall scanner, such as the scanning mode.

A power tool includes a housing having a first portion defining a forward end of the housing, a second portion defining a rearward end of the housing, an upper surface extending rearwardly from the forward end, and a lower surface extending forwardly from the rearward end. The power tool also includes a motor positioned within the housing, a drive mechanism coupled to the motor and positioned within the housing, an output element coupled to the drive mechanism at the forward end of the housing, a battery pack supported at the rearward end of the housing and electrically coupled to the motor, and an actuator operable to selectively power the motor to drive the drive mechanism and the output element. The actuator is supported by the housing forward of and above the battery pack.

A hand-held band saw has a handle for grasping the band saw, a motor, a drive wheel driven by the motor, a driven wheel and a continuous blade disposed about the drive wheel and the driven wheel. A portion of the continuous blade is positioned in a cut zone to perform a cutting operation. A workpiece guard is spaced from the portion of the continuous blade and positioned between the portion of the continuous blade and the handle for limiting movement of the workpiece after the cutting operation.

Utility knife

A hand-held band saw for cutting a workpiece. The hand-held band saw includes a deck, first and second wheels coupled to the deck for receiving a continuous blade thereabout, a motor coupled to the deck for driving at least one of the first or second wheels, and a handle providing a grip for a user to hold the band saw. The band saw also includes a blade guard having a first portion adjacent the first wheel, a second portion adjacent the second wheel, and a third portion adjoining the first and second portions. A joint couples the first, second, and third portions to the deck for simultaneous movement of the first, second, and third portions with respect to the deck.

A power tool includes a housing, a motor positioned within the housing, a drive mechanism coupled to the motor and positioned within the housing, and a shear head rotatably mounted to the housing and coupled to the drive mechanism. The power tool also includes a manually-operable actuator supported by the housing. The actuator is movable between a first position, in which the shear head is held stationary relative to the housing, and a second position, in which the shear head is rotatable relative to the housing.

A clamp meter configured to receive a removable and rechargeable battery pack. The clamp meter includes a main body having a first axis, a handle, a clamp, a trigger, and a display. The handle has a second axis and includes a first recess configured to receive the battery pack. The first recess includes at least first and second electrical terminals which are exposed when the battery pack is not inserted into the first recess. The second axis forms an oblique angle with the first axis, and the battery pack is inserted into the first recess along the second axis. The clamp is coupled to the main body, aligned with the first axis, and operable to measure an electrical characteristic of a conductor based on an induced current. The trigger is operable to selectively open and close the clamp, and the display configured to display an indication of the electrical characteristic.

A hand-held band saw having a deck defining a front and a rear, and an opening in the front defining a cut zone. The band saw also includes a first wheel supported by a first deck portion, a second wheel supported by a second deck portion, a motor operably coupled to the first wheel, a single handle providing a single grip for a user to hold the band saw with only one hand, and a continuous blade having a cutting edge. The continuous blade includes a first portion positioned in the cut zone for performing a cutting operation and a second portion positioned outside of the cut zone. A blade guard is positioned proximate the cutting edge of the second portion of the continuous blade to substantially provide a barrier between the cutting edge and an exterior of the band saw.

A battery charger for charging a first battery pack and a second battery pack includes a housing, a charging circuit positioned within the housing, and a first charging port coupled to the housing and electrically coupled to the charging circuit. The first charging port is configured to support the first battery pack and defines a first connection axis along which the first battery pack is movable to connect with the charging circuit. The battery charger also includes a second charging port coupled to the housing and electrically coupled to the charging circuit. The second charging port is configured to support the second battery pack while the first charging port supports the first battery pack. The second charging port defines a second connection axis along which the second battery pack is movable to connect with the charging circuit. The first connection axis is angled relative to the second connection axis.

A power tool includes a housing configured to house a motor. The housing defines a body axis and has a hand grip for a user, wherein the hand grip is positioned between a first end and a second end of the housing. The power tool further includes a tool element positioned at the first end of the housing and a battery connection port adapted to receive a battery pack. The battery connection port defines a removal axis for the battery pack and includes a first portion located at one end of the removal axis and a second portion located at an other end of the removal axis opposite the first portion. The second portion is positioned closer to the tool end than the first portion.
