Medical devices and methods for controlling the flow of fluid from wounds are disclosed herein. The medical device can have an adhesive pad defining a catheter-receiving opening, a flexible elongate tensioner, and a tensioner retainer. The tensioner retainer is configured to hold the flexible elongate tensioner such that the adhesive pad applies sufficient pressure to a subject's skin to press the subject's tissue toward a catheter when the catheter is positioned in the catheter-receiving opening and the adhesive pad is adhered to the subject's skin.

The present invention relates to a novel device to manufacture polyurethane foam boards used in structurally insulated panel known as insulated building material press. The press enables the application of pressure across a large area while foaming and curing polyurethane under pressure, curing glue or otherwise bonding materials into a finished product or to form multiple panels in a single press at the same time. The building material press can be used to manufacture multiple structurally insulated panels simultaneously. The press is mobile and can be transported by means of a vehicle to a remote location.

The present invention is directed to tissue removal devices and methods. A tubular element having an open distal end is advanced into tissue so that tissue enters the tubular element. The tissue, which entered the tubular element is cut to separate the tissue from the surrounding tissue. The tissue is then transported proximally by the cutting element or a separate transport element.

Devices and methods for cutting and collecting a specimen from a mass of tissue. The device may include an integrated cut and collect assembly. The integrated cut and collect assembly includes a cutting portion and a collection portion that includes a flexible membrane. The cutting portion is configured to cut the specimen from the mass of tissue and the collection portion is configured to collect the cut specimen and to encapsulate and isolate the cut specimen within the membrane to enable its safe retraction from the mass of tissue.

A steerable, tendon-driven endoscope is described herein. The endoscope has an elongated body with a manually or selectively steerable distal portion and an automatically controlled, segmented proximal portion. The steerable distal portion and the segment of the controllable portion are actuated by at least two tendons. As the endoscope is advanced, the user maneuvers the distal portion, and a motion controller actuates tendons in the segmented proximal portion so that the proximal portion assumes the selected curve of the selectively steerable distal portion. By this method the selected curves are propagated along the endoscope body so that the endoscope largely conforms to the pathway selected. When the endoscope is withdrawn proximally, the selected curves can propagate distally along the endoscope body. This allows the endoscope to negotiate tortuous curves along a desired path through or around and between organs within the body.

A power source may be coupled to the elongate cutting element; and the cutting element may be rotated after the moving step so that the cutting element cuts the breast tissue. The radially outer side of the cutting element may have a larger surface area for transmitting energy to cut the tissue than the radially inner side.
