An archery bow assembly is provided including an open sided spacer which is mountable to an axle on an archery bow and removable therefrom without removing the axle entirely or partially from a limb of the archery bow. The spacer can mount on the axle adjacent a cam rotatable on the axle, and can include an outer perimeter and an axle aperture. A recess can extend inward from the outer perimeter to the axle aperture so that the axle aperture and recess form a continuous opening. The spacer can be of a C-shape or E-shape. A cup spacer having an outer rim can capture the open sided spacer to secure it to the axle, yet still allow removal from the axle without removing the axle from the limb arms adjacent the cam. Related methods also are provided.

Archery bow cam spacer

An archery bow is provided including a cam rotatable about an axis, a bowstring disposed in a bowstring track of the cam having a plane of rotation perpendicular to the axis, and a power cable that is displaced along the axis toward the plane of rotation to concentrate a force of the power cable near a force of the bowstring along the axis to inhibit twisting of a limb, when the bow is drawn. A related method of use is provided.

A grip for a weapon is provided and can include a user engagement area including a first surface on the weapon, a first layer including an aerogel, the first layer disposed adjacent the first surface, and a first engagement member disposed over the first layer in the user engagement area. The first engagement member includes an exterior surface that engages an appendage of a user when the user holds the weapon. The first layer including the aerogel insulates the first engagement member so that thermal energy transfer between the user and the weapon is impaired. The weapon can be an archery bow, a firearm or any other weapon including a grip or portion that is engaged by an appendage of a user.

An archery bow is provided including an axle assembly that compresses bearing and other components between limb portions to clamp those components against one another, with zero gaps therebetween, yet enable a cam to freely rotate relative to the axle. The bow can include bearings having an inner portion, and an outer portion non-rotatably joined with a cam. A fastener is operable in a compression mode to exert a compression force, such as an axial clamping force, against the bearing inner portion so it is non-rotatable relative to the axle, while the outer portion remains uncompressed and rotatable relative to the axle. The assembly can include a compression spacer clamped under the compression force between inner portions of bearings. These constructions can enhance the consistency of cam rotation and promote a smooth draw of the bow. Related methods are also provided.

Archery bow axle assembly

An archery bow is provided including a riser and cams configured to maintain alignment of the cams to decrease lateral or horizontal nock travel, and thereby increase overall accuracy. The riser can include a lower portion having a leg that flexes so that a lower cam of the bow moves laterally in a direction less than or equal to the amount an upper cam moves in the direction. The upper and lower cams can be sized differently, for example, with the upper cam including a longer bowstring payout track than the lower cam, to ensure consistent and appropriate nock travel. The riser and cams can facilitate placement of a center grip at the geometric center of the riser or between the limbs/cams. With such placement, the nocking point can be located above this geometric center. This can enhance the balance and feel of the bow. Related methods are also provided.
