In accordance with some implementations of the described invention, a testing device is provided which includes a safety shield having one or more motion control cam tracks, wherein the cam tracks are configured to receive a cam follower that is connected to a mounting member onto which is mounted one or more testing modules. The testing modules perform specific functions for testing a sample product. The mounting member is moved within the safety shield as the cam follower tracks within the motion control cam tracks. In such implementations, the mounting member is further connected to two or more hydraulic cylinders or other actuators which are configured to move the mounting member to various positions within an x-axis and a y-axis. The integrated safety and motion control features of the safety shield provide precise, repeatable movement of the mounting member while preventing injuring to a user. Other implementations are also described.

Systems and methods for providing a dynamically adjustable, synchronously and/or asynchronously reciprocating fluid dispenser. A pump drive motor is coupled to the reciprocating fluid pump to actuate a pump shaft within a pump cylinder, wherein the pump shaft includes a duct that allows fluid to selectively pass thereby within the pump cylinder. As the pump shaft rotates within the pump cylinder, fluid is allowed to enter into a pump bore defined by a portion of the pump cylinder through a pump ingress port. As the pump shaft rotates, it blocks the pump ingress port. Further rotation allows the duct to allow the fluid in the pump bore to be dispensed through a pump egress port. An adjustment motor is coupled to an adjustment mechanism, which selectively adjusts the volume of the pump bore. A controller is coupled to the adjustment motor to dynamically control the adjustment motor, to cause the adjustment mechanism to be precisely and repeatably modified, and/or to control the particular waveform. As such, the volume of fluid dispensed is extremely accurate, repeatable, and dynamic.

Systems and methods for providing a dynamically adjustable reciprocating fluid dispenser

Systems and methods for hydraulically and volumetrically dispensing target fluid. A hydraulic system includes an actuator, a hydraulic coupler that includes substantially incompressible hydraulic liquid, and a container. The container may include a slidable or movable plunger or wall that when moved forces the target fluid out of the container. The actuator includes a motor or driver, such as a step motor, linear actuator, servomotor, pneumatic motor, or other similar device, to drive a plunger or piston of the hydraulic coupler. The coupler includes a conduit, column, shaft or other leak proof assembly that acts as a conduit for the substantially incompressible hydraulic liquid and includes a plunger or piston that is selectively pushed by the incompressible hydraulic liquid, thereby driving a head of the plunger or piston to press against the wall or plunger of the container or syringe that contains the target fluid or against the target fluid, causing the target fluid to be dispensed therefrom. Furthermore, the system may include a controller that is configured to control the target fluid dispensed and to receive input from a user.

Systems and methods for hydraulically and volumetrically filling and dispensing target fluid. A hydraulic system comprises an actuator, a hydraulic coupler that includes substantially incompressible hydraulic liquid, and a target fluid container. The actuator includes a motor or driver, such as a step motor, linear actuator, servomotor, pneumatic motor, or other similar device, to selectively drive a piston of the hydraulic coupler. The coupler includes a conduit, column, shaft or other leak proof assembly that acts as a conduit for the substantially incompressible hydraulic liquid and includes a cord and a piston, which is selectively pushed by the incompressible hydraulic liquid, thereby driving a plunger to selectively press against a slidable wall of the target fluid container, causing the target fluid to be dispensed therefrom, or retract the plunger from the container, pulling the slidable wall therewith through the use of a vacuum selectively created between the plunger and the wall. Furthermore, the system may include a controller that is configured to control the target fluid dispensed and to receive input from a user.
