A device for cleaning medical implements is disclosed, in particular a device for cleaning vascular or other fluid access sites. The device includes a cap having an opening to receive an access site. The cap may be used in the following manner: A healthcare worker may, with gloved hands, open the cap packaging and place the cap over the port of a medical implement to be cleaned. The healthcare worker may wipe the site by either applying a turning motion or by simply pushing the cap onto the port. The cap could then remain secured in place by threads other mechanisms. A cap in place on a medical implement may be a positive indication that a desired site of the medical implement is clean. The cap may include a disinfecting substance.

A container for disposal of medical waste is provided that comprises a receptacle with an open top. A lid is attached to the receptacle to cover the open top of the receptacle. The lid has an elongated opening sized to permit the introduction of medical waste into the receptacle. A closure flap is connected to the lid to selectively close the lid opening. The closure flap is movable between an open position, a closed position, and a locked position. The closure flap is attached to the lid by axial hubs that extend from each side of the closure flap through openings in the side walls of the lid. Covers attached to the outside of the side wall of the lid and engaged with the closure flap axial hub. The container may also include a locking external cabinet that encloses the receptacle and can be mounted to a wall.

A container for disposal of medical waste is provided that comprises a receptacle with an open top. A lid is attached to the receptacle to cover the open top of the receptacle. The lid has an elongated opening sized to permit the introduction of medical waste into the receptacle. A closure flap is connected to the lid to selectively close the lid opening. The closure flap is movable between an open position, a closed position and a locked position. The closure flap is attached to the lid by axial hubs that extend from each side of the closure flap through openings in the side walls of the lid. Covers attached to the outside of the side wall of the lid and engaged with the closure flap axial hub. The container may also include a locking external cabinet that encloses the receptacle and can be mounted to a wall.

A lid () for a container () includes a first sliding door () and a second sliding door (). A lid body () has a container engaging section () and an interior section () having a sliding surface () and a sharps disposal aperture (). The second sliding door interlocks between the sliding surface and the first sliding door. The first sliding door and the second sliding door are selectively slidable between: an open position () with a minor protuberance () and the major protuberance () disposed beneath the second sliding door; a partially closed position () with an edge () of the second sliding door disposed between the minor protuberance and the major protuberance; and a closed position () with the major protuberance disposed between the edge of the second sliding door and the minor protuberance.

A specimen collector includes a sleeve with one or more interior walls defining a substantially hollow interior cavity. The sleeve further includes an inlet port in fluid communication with the interior cavity and an outlet port in fluid communication with the interior cavity. The sleeve further includes a first side aperture and a second side aperture. The specimen collector also includes a tray slidable within the interior cavity of the sleeve. The tray includes a first specimen well and a second specimen well that alternately may be placed into fluidic communication with the inlet and outlet ports.

A motion-powered liquid sprayer that can increase the number of rotations of the pump relative to each rotation of the wheel or axle is provided. The sprayer can include a gearing assembly that employs gears to increase the number of pump revolutions as a function of the wheel or axle rotation. The sprayer can also include a gear pump that employs an over-capacity or enhanced gullet together with blow-by spacing to control consistent liquid flow relative to variable motional velocities. Further, the sprayer can include a vertically adjustable nozzle as well as a free reverse rotation wheel hub.

System of forming a protective covering for a wire harness

A system and method for forming a wire harness covering having a predetermined three-dimensional geometry is provided. The system and method make use of a mold and a post-molding fixture. In a first phase, the mold is used during an injection molding process to form a substantially flat and partially-cured harness covering having an intermediate, substantially two-dimensional shape. In a second phase, the post-molding fixture is used after the injection molding process to orient the harness with covering to a predetermined three-dimensional geometry corresponding to the desired final shape.
