The present invention discloses a system and method for data management whereby a data management application manages data across a managed service environment, a mail server environment, and a client environment. The present invention allows a customer to optimize data management functions such as archiving, recovering, monitoring, authenticating, synchronizing, transferring, copying, stubbing, chunking, harvesting, and securing.

System and method for managing data across multiple environments

A system and method for efficiently detecting and correcting transmission errors in packet-based communications by using cumulative error detection codes. The system may comprise a transmitting unit, which transmits one or more data packets. Each of the transmitted packets may comprise a plurality of transmission subunits. The transmitting unit preferably generates a cumulative error detection code (e.g., cumulative CRC code) for each of the transmission subunits of a packet. The system may further comprise a receiving unit to receive each of the transmission subunits of the packet. The receiving unit preferably generates a new cumulative error detection code for each of the received transmission subunits. The new cumulative error detection code is compared to the received cumulative error detection code to determine if any errors occurred in the transmission of the transmission subunit.

System and method for in-line consistency checking of packetized data

System and method for configuring a second system in a split bridge distributed environment. A host computer system (host) includes a memory operable to store host driver software (drivers) and a CPU operable to execute the drivers. A serial bus couples the host to the second system. The host saves configuration information for the second system. The second system receives user input requesting a power down condition. The drivers enters a quiescent state, generating an indication of a power down condition. The user powers down and reconfigures the second system. The host detects a link down condition between the host and the second system, and monitors a link status between the host and second system. The user powers up the second system. The host detects a link up condition, restores second system configuration, and performs a discovery process on the second system.

System and method for reconfiguring a system coupled to a host computer through a split bridge

A system and method for controlling relays. The method may comprise receiving one or more input commands for a plurality of relays, with the plurality of relays including a first relay, and a last relay, initiating actuation of the first relay after receiving the input relay commands, and initiating actuation of the last relay after initiating actuation of the first relay. Initiating actuation of the last relay does not wait for a debounce of the first relay. The method waits a debounce period after initiating actuation of the last relay. The debounce period operates to debounce the last relay and the first relay. One or more second relays may also be included in the debounce sequence. The relays may be latching or non-latching relays. The method may determine if another relay is required to be actuated after initiating actuation of each relay. One of the input commands may include a debounce mode input. A delayed debounce mode debounces the plurality of relays only after the last relay has been actuated. An immediate debounce mode debounces each relay immediately after the relay has been actuated. The system comprises one or more relay drivers coupled to relay control logic, with optional relays coupled therebetween. The relay control logic is operable to receive input commands for the relays, to initiate actuation of the relays without waiting for a debounce of the previous relay. The relay control logic waits a debounce period after initiating actuation of the last relay. The debounce period operates to debounce the last relay and the first and second relays.
