A lever-releasable first electrical connector body includes a housing that includes a set of electrical connectors and a lever rotatably mounted in the housing for rotation between retracted and extended positions. When the first connector body is engaged with a second electrical connector body to form electrical connections with the set of electrical connectors, the lever is normally in the retracted position. Rotation of the lever to the extended position causes an end of the lever to engage and urge the second electrical connector away from the first electrical connector.

A modular electric power distribution system transmits power between a power source and control modules for power consumers. The system includes a power distribution unit mounted on each module and bridge assemblies which connect adjacent distribution units.

An electrical connector has a plastic body and a blade contact in a terminal cavity in the body. A guard extends across the mouth of the cavity over an adjacent edge of the blade. A physical interlock connection holds the guard on the blade edge to shield the blade and prevent an object inserted into the mouth from contacting the blade.

Modular electric power distribution system

An assembly for forming two bridge connections between two contact members has two bridge conductors and two U-shaped spring clips which hold contact arms at the ends of the bridge conductors against contact members to form two separate electrical connections between the contact members. An insulating housing surrounds the conductors and clips.

A connector () is useful for making an electrically conductive connection with at least one conductive member. A disclosed example has one use for making such a connection with a tension member () in an elevator load bearing assembly (). An example connector () includes projections () having a unique configuration that withstands compressive and bending forces associated with piercing through at least a portion of a conductive member (). A disclosed example includes a generally concave surface () and a generally convex surface () along at least a portion of each projection. In a disclosed example, the projections at least partially lie on opposite sides of a centerline () of the connector ().

Dual band antenna and method of making same

An electrical connector (10) for interconnecting discrete circuits on a first circuit board (14) with discrete circuits on a second circuit board (16), includes an insulating housing (18) having a series of contact members (20) arranged in side by side cavities (22). Each contact member (20) has a straight shank (130) that is only partially supported by the floor (32) of the housing. The shank (130) has a first beam (136) at one end and a second beam (138) at the other end, each end of which has a respective one of first and second contacts (140, 142) attached thereto. Each contact terminates in a pre-load member (144, 146) that is formed parallel to the shank and slidingly extends into a recess (120) in the housing. Each pre-load member (144, 146) includes a latch surface (168) that abuts against a stop surface (124) formed in the housing (18) to limit movement of the contacts and thereby provide a desired pre-load to each contact (140, 142). The first and second beams (136, 138) are structured to partially extend into cutouts (90) in the floor (32) of the housing to minimize overall height of the connector. Additionally, the unsupported portions of the shank (130) of each contact member (20) resiliently deflect into their respective cutouts (90) thereby enhancing the affects of the first and second beams (136, 138).

An antenna (10) includes a first block-like portion (12) and a second mast portion (16) unitary with the first portion (12) at a first selected location. The first portion (12) has a selected area and shape to transceive a desired frequency band and includes a feed point (14) at a second selected location adapted to be electrically connected to a signal line (42) of an electrical article (52). The first portion (12) provides a wide frequency band and the second portion (16) provides flexibility for the antenna (10).
