A hydraulic thruster system for providing an axial force. In one embodiment, the system comprises a pump, a motor for driving the pump, and a hydraulic thruster comprising: a cylinder comprising a plurality of cylinder pistons; a shaft comprising a plurality of shaft pistons; a plurality of first pressure chambers; and a plurality of second pressure chambers, wherein the plurality of shaft pistons are positioned inside the cylinder, between the cylinder pistons to form the plurality of first and a second pressure chambers, wherein the shaft further comprises a first fluid passage connected to the pump and to the first pressure chambers, and a second fluid passage connected to the pump and to the second pressure chambers, and wherein the pump may pump fluid into the first pressure chambers and suction fluid from the second pressure chambers providing an axial force between the shaft and the cylinder.

Hydraulic thruster

An expandable liner hanger includes an anchoring element having multiple circumferential ridges that include flow relief grooves which prevent buildup of hydrostatic pressure between the liner hanger and well casing during expansion of the liner hanger. Upon liner hanger expansion the ridges come in high interference with wellbore casing and couple the liner hanger to the wellbore casing. According to another embodiment of the invention, the ridges are formed by a spiral ridge extending along an outer periphery of the hanger thus providing a pressure relief passage for the fluid.

Expandable liner hanger

A casing patch system comprising a base tubular with two anchor/seals coupled to the base tubular and an expansion tool comprising two expansion devices positioned such that upon expansion of the first anchor/seal, the second expansion device engages the second anchor/seal. In another embodiment, the expansion device comprises two swages coupled to a shaft at a distance between them approximately equal to the length of the anchor/seal. The swage diameters are selected such that the expansion forces of the anchor/seal by front and back swages are approximately equal.

Casing patch system

A disconnect device for use as part of a downhole assembly in an oil or gas well. In one embodiment, the device comprises a lower receptacle assembly comprising a recess profile; an upper assembly comprising: a shaft comprising a fluid passage, a collet comprising collet fingers, a piston, a cylinder assembly, a pressure chamber disposed radially between the shaft and the cylinder assembly, and a spring, wherein the piston is selectively movable into three positions.

Disconnect device

A method and apparatus for patching damaged areas in a well includes a top and a bottom patching section which include an anchor/sealing member for securing the apparatus within the well. One or more extension patch sections are connected between the top and bottom patch sections. The top and bottom patch elements are placed above and below the damaged area to isolate the damaged area from the exterior flow portion of the well.

Wire line deployable metal patch stackable system

A casing patch system comprising a base tubular with two anchor/seals coupled to the base tubular and an expansion tool comprising two expansion devices positioned such that upon expansion of the first anchor/seal, the second expansion device engages the second anchor/seal, which allows reduction of the expansion forces due to sequential expansion and reduces the length of the displacement necessary for setting the casing patch, eliminating the need for resetting the thruster, which allows deployment and setting of the casing patch on a wireline. In another embodiment, the expansion device comprises two swages coupled to a shaft at a distance between them approximately equal to the length of the anchor/seal. The swage diameters are selected such that the expansion forces of the anchor/seal by front and back swages are approximately equal, resulting in significantly less expansion force compared to the expansion force necessary for expansion by a single swage, which allows a high degree of anchor/seal expansions unachievable by single swage expansion devices.

A system for sealing a region of open hole gravel pack comprising a sealing patch and an installation tool is described. The sealing patch includes a tubular assembly including two expandable anchor/seals and two low melting temperature alloy elements positioned on outside surface of the tubular assembly above the anchor/seals. The system is deployed in desirable location in the well and the tool is operated to set anchor/seals in interference contact with sand-screen. Then the alloy elements are melted to seal the patch. The anchor/seals serve two purposes: they provide a hanging capacity to support the patch in the well and create a 'bridge' preventing the molten alloy from freely flowing through the annulus between the tubular assembly and sand screen and focusing the molten alloy at the anchor/seals to flow in radial direction penetrating through the sand-screen and the surrounding proppant sand creating a complete seal.

Method for sealing a region of open hole gravel pack

A device and method for an expandable anchor sleeve. An expandable anchor sleeve may comprise a front-end and a back-end for a wellbore comprising a base casing. The expandable anchor sleeve may further comprise an anchoring element having a conical shape with a front-end radial thickness being larger than a back-end radial thickness, not less than a difference between corresponding radii of maximum and minimum internal diameters of the base casing and providing the anchoring element is in interference contact with the base casing upon radial expansion of the expandable anchor sleeve by an expansion swage propagating in the front-end direction. A method for installation of an expandable anchor sleeve in a well comprising a base casing which may comprise connecting an expandable anchor sleeve to an expansion, deploying the expandable anchor sleeve, activating the expansion device, and removing the expansion device from the well.

Expandable anchor sleeve

An apparatus, method, and system for repairing wellbore casing. In one embodiment, an expandable casing patch system for a wellbore includes a casing patch deployment apparatus. The casing patch deployment apparatus includes a shaft having a frontward end and a rearward end as well as a thruster and a main expansion swage disposed on the shaft. The casing patch deployment apparatus also includes an anchor disposed on the shaft. The anchor is disposed frontward of the main expansion swage. In addition, the casing patch deployment apparatus includes a front expansion swage disposed frontward of the anchor and attached to the shaft. The front expansion swage has a diameter less than a diameter of the main expansion swage. The expandable casing patch system also includes an expandable casing patch.

Metal patch system

Disclosed is an expansion assembly and method to expand tubulars. In embodiments, an expansion assembly for disposition in a wellbore includes an expandable tubular and an expansion tool that has a swage and a thruster. In addition, the expansion tool has a front anchor assembly that has a front anchor having an open position providing an anchoring relationship with the internal wall and a closed position providing the front anchor with a diameter less than an internal diameter of the expandable tubular. The front anchor assembly also has a sensor positioned on an opposing side of the front anchor from the expansion swage providing that while the sensor is positioned inside the internal wall the front anchor may be in an open position or in a closed position while upon exit of the sensor from the end portion the sensor brings the front anchor in a permanently closed position.

Apparatus and method for expanding tubulars in a wellbore

To produce a sealing contact between male and female threaded elements, a contact zone is provided, located between male and female threading portions separated from each other in an axial direction. The male and female elements have respective cylindrical portions that extend over the entire length of the contact zone. After expansion, a sealing contact is established between surfaces in two annular areas by a radial interference fit.
