Systems, apparatus, and methods are disclosed for accurately identifying a mobile thing motion activity (MTMA; e.g., stationary, walking, running, biking, driving, etc.) associated with a mobile thing (MT) using sensor data from one or more sensors associated with a wireless communication device (WCD) transported by the MT, so as to enable targeted selection and communication of an advertisement that is suited for the identified MTMA. The one or more sensors produce sensor data indicative of physical movement of the WCD in three dimensional space and may include, for example, one or more of the following: an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, etc.

Systems, apparatus, and methods are disclosed for accurately identifying one or more mobile thing motion activity (MTMAs; e.g., stationary, walking, running, biking, driving, etc.) associated with a mobile thing (MT; e.g., a person) using sensor data from one or more sensors associated with a wireless communication device (WCD) transported by the MT and for facilitating purchase of a good or service based at least in part upon the one or more MTMAs and one or more predefined user preferences. The sensor data from the one or more sensors (e.g., accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, etc.) is designed to produce data indicative of physical movement of the WCD in three dimensions of a three dimensional (3D) space. In some embodiments, the one or more MTMAs are a plurality of instances of the same MTMA (e.g., a plurality of running sessions) and the purchase of the good or service (e.g., new running shoes) is initiated when a total time duration or total travel distance exceeds a predefined threshold (e.g., 300 hours or 500 miles, respectively), as defined by the WCD user in a predefined preference.

Systems and methods are disclosed for automated computer based notification systems. The systems and methods enable secure notification communication sessions. A representative method, among others that are disclosed herein, can be broadly summarized by the following steps: enabling a first party associated with a personal communication device (PCD) to input or select authentication information for use in connection with a subsequent notification communication session involving advance notice of a delivery or pickup of a good or service at a stop location by a mobile thing (MT); storing the authentication information; monitoring location or travel information in connection with the MT; causing initiation of the notification communication session to the PCD, in advance of arrival of the MT at the stop location, based at least in part upon the location or travel information associated with the MT; during the notification communication session, providing the authentication information to the PCD that indicates to the first party that the notification communication session was initiated by an authorized source; and during the notification communication session, enabling the first party to select whether or not to communicate with a second party having access to particulars of the pickup or delivery. An embodiment of a related system, among others, has a computer-based architecture with computer software, or code, that is stored in one or more memories and executed by one or more processors for performing the foregoing steps. Yet another embodiment of a related system can be implemented in software and/or hardware and has a means for performing each of the aforementioned steps.

A personal electronic device (PED) is provided with a system for delivering activity based suggestive (ABS) messages (e.g., a motivational message, etc.) to a user based upon the current or anticipated activity of the user. In some embodiments, the user can define user preferences, which determine when and how ABS messages are initiated. In some embodiments, the message selection is based upon a detected activity, location, or speed of the user. In some embodiments, the message selection is based upon a detection of a local environmental event.

Systems and methods for delivering activity based suggestive (ABS) messages

The present disclosure provides, among other things, various systems and methods for battery remediation in connection with electric powered mobile things (EPMTs). A representative method, among others, can be summarized by the following steps: monitoring electric power capacity (EPC) associated with locomotion of the EPMT; monitoring travel data relating to the EPMT; engaging in a communication session with a remote host computer system (H-CS) based upon the EPC monitoring; requesting assistance of a battery remediation station (BRS) during the communication session; communicating location information relating to the EPMT during the communication session so that the BRS can visit and remediate (recharge, repair, or replace) a battery associated with the EPMT. Upon receiving this information, the H-CS can contact and dispatch the BRS to visit the EPMT. A representative system, among others, comprises an EPMT-CS that is programmed or designed to perform the foregoing steps.

Systems and methods for battery remediation in connection with an electric powered mobiel thing (EPMT)

Systems, apparatus, and methods are disclosed for accurately identifying a moving thing motion activity (MTMA) associated with a mobile thing (MT) using sensor data from one or more sensors associated with a wireless communication device (WCD) transported by the MT so as to enable or initiate a further one or more activity based actions. One such method, among others, comprises: (a) receiving first and second data from one or more sensors (e.g., accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, etc.) associated with a wireless communication device (WCD) transported by a mobile thing (MT), the first and second data indicative of movement of the WCD; (b) determining reference data that defines a reference framework from the first data; (c) normalizing the second data with the reference data so that the second data can be analyzed in the reference framework; and (d) identifying an MTMA associated with the MT based upon the normalized second data.

Systems and methods are disclosed for automated computer-based notification systems. A representative method, among others that are disclosed herein, can be broadly summarized by the following steps: engaging in a first one or more data transfers with a first personal communications device (PCD) for scheduling an order relating to arrival or departure of a mobile thing (MT) at a stop location and to pickup or delivery of a good or service at the stop location; during the first one or more data transfers, requesting and permitting input or selection of time information relating to the pickup and/or delivery of the good and/or service at the stop location; permitting the MT to arrive at or depart from the stop location based upon the input or selection of the time information; causing initiation of a second one or more data transfers with the first PCD or a second PCD designated during the first one or more data transfers, prior to expiration of the time information related to the pickup or delivery of the good or service at the stop location; and during the second one or more data transfers, permitting a change to the time information associated with the order that was established during the first one or more data transfers; and permitting the MT to arrive at or depart from the stop location at a later time based upon the change in the time information that was established during the second one or more data transfers. A representative system, among others, can be a computer system that has been programmed to perform the foregoing steps.
