A system for determining work vehicle operational state includes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) configured to fly relative to a work vehicle and an imaging device supported on the UAV. In this respect, the imaging device is configured to capture a plurality of images of the work vehicle as the UAV flies relative to the work vehicle, with each captured image depicting one of a plurality of inspection points on the work vehicle. Furthermore, the system includes a computing system configured is receive the plurality of captured images from the imaging device and access a plurality of stored images, with each stored image depicting one of the plurality of inspection points in an operational state. Additionally, the computing system is configured to compare each captured image to one of the stored images to determine when the corresponding inspection point is in the operational state.

A system for automatically performing an earthmoving operation may include a work vehicle having an implement that is articulable by the work vehicle over a stroke length, a user interface, and a controller communicatively coupled to the user interface. The controller may be configured to receive an operator input via the user interface associated with performing an earthmoving operation with the implement of the work vehicle according to one of a plurality of earthmoving styles. Additionally, the controller may be configured to control the operation of the work vehicle to perform the earthmoving operation with the implement within the worksite based at least in part on the one of the plurality of earthmoving styles.

A system for performing an earthmoving operation may include a work vehicle having an articulable implement and a soil composition sensor supported on the work vehicle. The soil composition sensor may generate data indicative of a soil composition below a surface of a worksite. The computing system may receive an input associated with a target profile of the worksite. The computing system may further receive the data indicative of the soil composition of the worksite. The system may also include a grading vehicle having a marker sensor configured to capture data providing an indication of the grading information from each site marker. In addition, the system may include a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor. The controller may be configured to identify the grading information based on the data received from the marker sensor and control the operation of a component of the grading vehicle during the performance of the grading operation based on the grading parameter(s).

The locating step locates at least one reference item in an image of a machine, the reference item having at least one predefined dimensional characteristic. The determining step determines a location of the first target point relative to the second target point dependent upon the at least one predefined dimensional characteristic.

In one aspect, a method for creating a final graded soil surface may include controlling an operation of a grading implement of a work vehicle such that the grading implement removes a layer of soil from a current soil surface as the work vehicle is moved in a forward direction. The method may also include receiving an input indicative of the current soil surface being at an offset soil depth relative to the initial ungraded soil surface, with the offset soil depth differing from the final soil depth. When the current soil surface is at the offset soil depth, the method may further include adjusting a position of the grading implement to add or remove soil based on a depth differential defined between the offset soil depth and the final soil depth to create the final graded soil surface as the work vehicle is moved in the reverse direction.

The wheels are automatically leaned as determined necessary for counteracting the draft forces. An all-wheel-drive system can be controlled together with wheel lean for counteracting draft forces. Inputs from moldboard tilt and roll, motor grader positioning and orientation and the like can be included in determining anticipated draft forces.
