A method and apparatus for an adaptive, multi-axis suspension support system providing both coarse and fine suspension to a payload. Coarse suspension control is provided to maintain the payload within a coarse range of position. Fine suspension control is provided by monitoring and analyzing vibration characteristics in both time and frequency domains to determine the required amount of damper resistance to be exerted by a magnetorheological (MR) device.

Method and apparatus for an adaptive suspension support system

A method and apparatus for a low-profile suspension system, which provides coarse and fine suspension control to an object supported by the low-profile suspension system. Coarse suspension is provided to adaptively control a position of the object through pneumatic support devices. Pneumatic pressure is adaptively increased in the pneumatic support devices to support an increasing weight of the object, while pneumatic pressure is adaptively decreased in the pneumatic support devices to support a decreasing weight of the object. Fine suspension control is provided through rotational actuation of a shock absorbing device through a right-angle gear drive. By rotationally actuating the shock absorbing device, a range of stroke of the shock absorbing device along a vertical direction is minimized. Position equalization control is further provided to maintain a position of the object along an axis that is orthogonal to the coarse and fine suspension axis.

Method and apparatus for a low-profile suspension system

A method and apparatus for an electronic equipment rack that provides mobility through directional self-propulsion and multi-axis suspension. The electronic equipment rack further provides self-powered operation and environmental control with wireless access, while protecting against unauthorized access, electromagnetic interference (EMI), and dust contamination. A vibrating screen aggregate separation device separates finer grained material from an aggregate material that may contain a wide variety of undesired materials. A mesh design associated with a vibrating screen contains perforations to allow smaller diameter material to pass through into a container that is situated below the screen. A suspension system is affixed between the container and the vibrating screen to allow a range of motion that is conducive to vibration of the screen, while at the same time, is supportive of the weight of the aggregate material that is to be screened. Vibration of the screen is effected by rotating an unbalanced rod along its longitudinal axis to induce vibrational energy to the screen and associated supporting structures.

A water detection signal generator includes a water-sensing member with a first surface which is movable from a first position to a second position upon contact with water by the sensing member. A movement responsive device is coupled with the first surface of the sensing member and is operated by movement of the first surface from the first position to the second position thereof.
