An underbelly mower has a cutting deck suspended beneath a frame by a height adjustment mechanism. The deck is adjusted between different cutting heights by extendable mechanical advantage device such as an electric screw and hydraulic ram operating in cooperation with the height adjustment mechanism. The mechanical advantage device also operably moves the deck between a cutting configuration and a maintenance configuration. A deck quick release and attachment mechanism, including hook members, operably allows a user to quickly and easily disconnect and reconnect a rear of deck to the frame when moving between cutting and maintenance configurations.

A multiblade lawn mower has a mower deck with a downwardly directed interior opening. At least two rotary blades are disposed within the opening. A generally circular wraparound baffle is adapted to surround each rotary blade. The wraparound baffle has a throat area opening generally towards one of the walls at an acute angle and/or an opening in the mower deck. The wraparound baffle also has a sloped wall portion adapted to decrease in height gradually from the height of the wraparound baffle to an edge terminating in the throat area. A collar is attached to the top wall and extends downward to a position adjacent the rotary blade. The collar surrounds a spindle attached to the rotary blade to prevent grass buildup created by movement of the rotary blades in a vortex area proximate the spindle.

Mower deck enhancement

A self-propelled mower includes a frame and a mower housing mounted underbelly relative to the frame by a mounting assembly. The mounting assembly allows the mower housing to be disconnected from the frame and swung near the front of the housing from a mowing configuration to an access configuration as a front end of the mower is raised. In one embodiment the frame includes a yoke that receives a nose of the housing, as the front of the mower is raised. A mechanized drive is utilized in certain embodiments to swing the mower deck to the access configuration.

A self-propelled mower includes a frame and a mower housing mounted underbelly relative to the frame by a mounting assembly. The mounting assembly allows the mower housing to be disconnected from the frame and swung near the front of the housing from a mowing configuration to an access configuration as a front end of the mower is raised. The frame includes a yoke that receives a nose of the housing, as the front of the mower is raised.

Raiseable mower deck

A front mounted mower deck includes a mounting and support assembly for operably joining the deck to a motorized vehicle. The mounting and support assembly includes a pair of pusher bars swivelly attached at one end to the deck and at the opposite end to the vehicle. A hanger is pivotally mounted on each pusher bar and includes a slot which receives a slot follower mounted on the deck to allow articulation from side to side by movement of the slot followers in the slots. Each hanger is biased to maintain an associated slot follower in the slot therefor. However, the hanger can be manually manipulated to overcome the biasing force so that the slot followers are released from the slots, thereby allowing the deck to be rotated about the connection with the pusher bars to provide for cleaning, maintenance, etc. A height adjustment mechanism cooperates with the mounting and support assembly to allow simultaneous adjustment of the mower cutting height on both sides of the front and back of the mower from a single location.

A mower clipping collection system for a riding mower comprises a collector housing having an interior collection chamber and having an interior cylindrical wall forming a cylindrical separation chamber positioned above and in communication with the collection chamber. A clipping transfer conduit extends from the mower deck and is mounted tangentially with respect to the cylindrical wall of the collector housing such that mower clippings, entrained in a stream of air exiting the mower, are blown tangentially into the separation chamber through an opening in the cylindrical wall. The collector housing includes a floor which slopes downward to a clipping dump opening extending across a rear side of the housing. A door is pivotally mounted to the collector housing across the clipping dump opening and moveable in and out of covering relationship therewith by a door operating assembly engageable by an operator while seated on the mower. A blower, that is selectively engageable by the operator while seated on the mower, is connected to the clipping transfer conduit to facilitate the transfer of clippings. An exhaust duct is connected to the collector housing and extends from an exhaust opening therein to a downwardly directed exhaust duct outlet near ground level.

A belt tensioner for a twisted belt that tends to elongate during usage includes a tensioning pulley for operably engaging the twisted belt, a carrier for the pulley pivotally connected to a frame, a tensioning device for applying continuous force to the tensioning pulley carrier so as to tension the belt, and an unidirectional locking mechanism that allows the carrier to swing in only one direction and not in a reverse direction.

The present invention provides an anti-buck vehicle comprising an engine chassis, an implement pivotally connected to a front end of the engine chassis, and an anti-buck device connecting the engine chassis to the implement to prevent sudden pivotal movement of the engine chassis toward the implement.
