A system for controlling a subsystem of a vehicle includes a memory, a first processor, and a second processor. The first processor allocates a portion of the memory upon booting to perform operations to control the subsystem and generates an indication when an amount of memory used from the allocated portion of the memory is greater than or equal to a threshold. The first processor monitors times when the vehicle is turned on and off and determines a time period during which the vehicle remains turned off. After the vehicle is turned off, the first processor enters a power save mode. The memory and the second processor continue to receive power. During the time period, on receiving the indication, the second processor wakes up the first processor, which performs a reboot operation, reallocates the memory, and reenters the power save mode. The memory continues to receive power.

System and method for managing system memory integrity in suspended electronic control units

A system is provided for calibration of vehicle electronic modules. The system includes: a vehicle and a computing device separate from the vehicle. The vehicle includes: a vehicle communications interface, configured to facilitate communications with a computing device without utilizing an Assembly Line Diagnostic Link (ALDL) or on-board diagnostic (OBD) port; and a plurality of electronic modules, the plurality of electronic modules being configurable via calibration data received via the vehicle communications interface. The computing device includes: a computing device communications interface, configured to facilitate communications with the plurality of electronic modules of the vehicle via the vehicle communications interface; a human machine interface (HMI), configured to receive input from a user and to display information; and a processor, configured to execute a calibration application, the calibration application being configured to utilize the HMI of the computing device to receive input from the user, and further being configured to generate calibration data corresponding to the user input for transmission to respective vehicle electronic modules.

Apparatus is provided for an electronic vehicle storage system. The apparatus includes a data storage device configured to store multimedia files, a wireless transceiver configured to transfer multimedia files, and a controller coupled to the wireless transceiver, data storage device, and a vehicle electrical infrastructure. The data storage device has an embedded database containing a first list of multimedia files. The controller is configured to communicate with an external computing device via the wireless transceiver. The external computing device has a second list of multimedia files. The controller is further configured to synchronize the first list of multimedia files with the second list of multimedia files.

System and apparatus for wireless synchronization of multimedia content

Systems and methods are provided for a multimedia storage and transfer. The system includes a first data storage device in a first vehicle, a wireless transceiver configured to communicate with a second data storage device in a second vehicle, and a controller coupled to the wireless transceiver and first data storage device. The first data storage device has an embedded database configured to store multimedia files. The embedded database has a list of multimedia file content. The controller is configured to remove the list of multimedia file content from the first data storage device and transfer the list of multimedia file content to the second data storage device via the wireless transceiver.

Apparatus is provided for an electronic vehicle storage system. The apparatus includes a vehicle electrical infrastructure, a vehicle communications network coupled to the vehicle electrical infrastructure, a controller coupled to the vehicle electrical infrastructure via the vehicle communications network, and a data storage device coupled to the controller and configured to store multimedia files. The controller is configured to communicate with the vehicle electrical infrastructure. The data storage device includes an embedded database containing a list of multimedia file content. Methods and apparatus are provided for estimating the remaining state-of-charge of a non-rechargeable power source, such as a back-up battery for an electronic module normally connected to a primary power source. A processor within the electronic module implements a prediction algorithm, in order to monitor the temperature of the back-up attery, and to calculate various current draws of the back-up battery. The processor adjusts the nominal self-discharge rate of the back-up battery in accordance with the measured temperatures, and calculates an adjusted self-discharge quantity. The processor also accumulates current draw data and reduces the initial state-of-charge value of the back-up battery by the temperature-adjusted self-discharge quantity and the cumulative current draw quantities to determine a remaining state-of-charge of the back-up battery. At a predetermined state-of-charge threshold level, an indicator can be activated to advise a user to replace the back-up battery.

Apparatus and methods for estimating the state-of-charge of a power source

An audio system for projecting sound toward a rear opening of an automotive vehicle is disclosed. Each side of the vehicle includes a speaker assembly mounted to a side interior wall between a side door and the rear opening of the vehicle. The assemblies each include a speaker housing containing a forwardly disposed speaker cone with an axis generally perpendicular to the vehicle side and a rearwardly disposed speaker cone with an axis disposed toward the rear opening at an angle of about 15 degrees relative to the forwardly disposed speaker cone axis. An audio transmitter is in signaling communication with each of the speaker cones for driving the speaker cones.

A vehicle having an adaptive cruise control system with active deceleration control responds to capture of new in-path vehicles which violate a predetermined inter-vehicle spacing to attenuate unnecessarily aggressive deceleration responses. New in-path vehicles may be identified by inordinate changes in inter-vehicle spacing. Deceleration response of the system to controlled vehicle closing rate and new in-path vehicle deceleration preferably remain unattenuated.
