Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for providing interactive content to a user. In a non-limiting embodiment, an apparatus, such as a media device, may provide interactive content to a user. The media device may receive content comprising primary and secondary content from a content provider, and then determine whether the secondary content is a candidate for an interactive experience. The media device may also provide the interactive experience to the user when the secondary content is a candidate for the interactive experience. Furthermore, the media device may monitor tracking information of the interactive experience.

Heterogeneous video may be independently encoded in a processor-based system and transmitted for display on a display device. In the display device, the independent video streams may be de-packetized for display on the same display at different frame rates. Thus, each of the video sources may be displayed in a separate portion of the display at its native frame rate. For example, an electronic programming guide may be transmitted for display at one frame rate and displayed in a distinct region on the display screen while video corresponding to an ongoing television program may be displayed in another portion of the display screen at its native frame rate.

Displaying heterogeneous video

In a passive pixel data handling system, pixel data may be transferred to a transfer function, at a given address range. The transfer function may perform a transformation and readdress the pixel data. For example, the data may be received through a media port target which transfers the pixel data to a transfer function located at an address range in virtual memory. Each transfer function may readdress the pixel data and forward it to a media port write back engine or to the memory address range of another transfer function.

Transforming pixel data and addresses

A display device, such as a projector system, may include a plurality of display panels formed from liquid crystal over semiconductor substrates which incorporate not only the pixel elements but memory as well. The presence of memory in the display allows a host system, such as a computer, to send only new picture information to the display and avoid the transmission of information that does not change. Thus, the display update bandwidth required of the host system may be reduced, allowing the host system to use resources typically required by the display update process for improved performance of other operations. In addition, the elimination of redundant information being transmitted to the display may allow more new information to be transmitted, enabling, for example, a higher resolution display.

Liquid crystal over semiconductor display with on-chip storage

The present invention provides a system and method for checking authorization of remote configuration operations. The method comprises storing at least one image frame such that content of the image frame is stored in a plurality of memory pages in a memory. The method further comprises sending the image frame to the display one memory page at a time to refresh the display.
