A paint brush having a handle with an integrated hanger that is pivotably movable between a retracted position for stowing the hanger within a groove of the handle, and an extended position for extending the hanger outwardly from the groove to hang the paint brush on an object. When stowed in the retracted position the hanger may be flush with an outer surface of the handle to enhance the ergonomic design. The hanger and groove may be configured to enable ease of deployment of the hanger from the retracted to extended position simply with a one-handed operation. The portion of the handle having the groove may be made of a flexible material which may better secure the hanger in the groove when stowed and/or may facilitate installation of the hanger. The handle may include a grip portion having the flexible material which is over-molded onto a rigid head portion.

A brush of the present disclosure includes a handle, a plurality of bristles, and a sleeve configured to couple the plurality of bristles to the handle. A plug strip is disposed within the sleeve and may be configured to orient the plurality of bristles to provide increased coating performance. The plug strip has opposed sides extending along a central longitudinal axis of the plug strip. At least one of the opposed sides has an undulating surface forming tapered ridges alternating with tapered valleys.

A locking mechanism for inner and outer telescoping members includes a housing fixedly attached to the axial outer end of the outer telescoping member. A cam member is mounted on the housing for pivotal movement between a locking position applying pressure urging a pressure pad in a radial through opening in the housing against the outer surface of the inner telescoping member to lock the inner telescoping member against axial movement relative to the outer telescoping member, and an unlocking position releasing the applied pressure.

Paint roller support includes a substantially rigid sleeve portion for supporting a roller cover thereon and a plurality of flexible fingers that are engageable by an actuator to cause outer ends of the fingers to flex outwardly. An elastomeric material at least partially covers outer surfaces of the fingers for pressing engagement of the elastomeric material against the inner diameter of a surrounding roller cover during outward flexing of the fingers for securely retaining the roller cover in place on the support.
