Methods, systems, computer readable media, and apparatuses are disclosed for providing event messages to a user. The event messages may include video data or a link to video of the event. In some variations, a user or content provider may define criteria for the event messages that are to be displayed to the user. The event messages may be stored so that a user may be able to browse through the stored event messages and decide when to view the video of the event. Upon a user's selection of the event message, the video of the event may be displayed to the user on the same display device or another display device.

According to some aspects, disclosed methods and systems may include having a user input one or more speech commands into an input device of a user device. The user device may communicate with one or more components or devices at a local office or headend. The local office or the user device may transcribe the speech commands into language transcriptions. The local office or the user device may determine, based on the mood of the user, which content asset or content service to make available to the user device.

In one embodiment, a method for presenting factoids includes receiving a user query concerning an object, providing object information associated with the object for presentation to a user, and providing one or more factoids pertaining to the object for presentation to the user. The factoids are presented independently from the object information, and each of the factoids indicates at least one special characteristic of the object in a distinct area.

Systems and methods for answering user questions using databases annotated with answerable questions are disclosed. The database includes database items organized into columns. Each of the columns may have a question annotated thereto. The question is a parameterized question that is answerable by the database items in the column. A question answering algorithm is used to search the database for an annotated question corresponding to a question that needs to be answered.

The method may further include receiving the new query concerning one of the additional objects, and providing a result of the new query to the user.
