[Task] A task is to make a V-type engine compact while suppressing the decrease in the output thereof. [Solution] A V-type engineincludes an engine body () including a crankcase () configured to rotatably support a crankshaft (), and a pair of cylinder banks () extending from the crankcase (), a pair of exhaust pipes () connected to the pair of cylinder banks (), a catalyst pipe () connected to the pair of exhaust pipes (), and a catalyst () accommodated in the catalyst pipe (), wherein each of the pair of exhaust pipes () is connected to the catalyst pipe () on an upstream side of the catalyst () in an exhaust direction, and the catalyst pipe () is arranged adjacently to the pair of cylinder banks ().

V-type engine

A V-type engine includes an engine body including a crankcase configured to rotatably support a crankshaft, and a first and second cylinder banks extending from the crankcase, an exhaust collecting pipe connected to the first and second cylinder banks, a catalyst accommodated in the exhaust collecting pipe, and a muffler detachably connected to the exhaust collecting pipe, wherein the catalyst extends in a width direction of the engine body from a distal end side of the first cylinder bank to a distal end side of the second cylinder bank.

V-type engine and work machine

An exhaust device of an engine includes: a muffler provided with a plurality of muffling chambers separated by a plurality of partition walls, a communication pipe accommodated in the muffler and penetrating at least one of the partition walls, and a catalyst accommodated in the muffler and penetrating at least one of the partition walls, wherein the muffling chambers include: a pair of first muffling chambers each provided with an inlet port for exhaust gas; a second muffling chamber communicating with the pair of first muffling chambers via the communication pipe; and a third muffling chamber communicating with the second muffling chamber via the catalyst.

Exhaust device of engine and work machine

An internal combustion engine that includes a first fuel pump that sucks fuel through a fuel filter, and a second fuel pump that supplies the fuel to a fuel injection device. The internal combustion engine comprises: a first fuel pipe that interconnects the fuel filter, the first fuel pump, and the second fuel pump set to have a pressure higher than a pressure of the first fuel pump; and a second fuel pipe that connects the second fuel pump to the fuel injection device that injects fuel into a combustion chamber formed in a cylinder portion of the internal combustion engine, a shielding wall covering an outside of the cylinder portion is provided between at least a part of the second fuel pipe and the cylinder portion, and the shielding wall includes a holding portion that holds at least the first fuel pipe and the second fuel pipe.

Internal combustion engine

An engine generator has an opening and closing mechanism including: a control shaft provided to a valve shaft of a choke valve to be rotatable relative thereto within a predetermined angular range; an urging member urging the valve shaft relative to the control shaft in a direction in which an opening degree of the choke valve decreases; a restriction mechanism that sets a minimum opening degree of the choke valve by restricting a range of rotation of the control shaft; a choke operating portion which, upon operation, drives the restriction mechanism in a direction in which the minimum opening degree of the choke valve decreases; and a negative pressure mechanism driven by a negative pressure generated during an operation of the engine to cause the control shaft to rotate to increase the minimum opening degree of the choke valve within the range of rotation restricted by the restriction mechanism.

Engine generator

The device includes an exhaust passage having an upstream end connected to an exhaust port of the engine and a downstream end provided with a catalytic converter, a secondary air passage having a downstream end connected to an intermediate point of the exhaust passage and an upstream end communicating with the atmosphere, and a reed valve provided in an upstream end of the secondary air passage to permit air flow from the atmosphere to the exhaust passage but not in the opposite direction. The reed valve has a resonance frequency which is z times the prescribed exhaust frequency of the engine, where z is an integer. The length of the secondary air passage is selected that the pulsation effect of air in the secondary air passage may be advantageously utilized.

Exhaust purifying device for internal combustion engine

An exhaust gas purification device for a general-purpose engine includes a crankcase and a cylinder block provided continuously on an upper portion of the crankcase and inclined to one lateral side of the crankcase. A catalytic converter is provided in an exhaust muffler of the engine. A downstream end of a secondary air introduction pipe is connected to an exhaust pipe upstream of the muffler. A dedicated air filter is connected through a one-way valve to an upstream side of the secondary air introduction pipe. The filter is disposed between the crankcase and a lower surface of the cylinder block. The secondary air introduction pipe is arranged so as to meander on one side of the cylinder block. Accordingly, the device can be employed without increasing an outer size of the engine, and can also securely introduce secondary air into an exhaust system, thereby enhancing an exhaust gas purifying effect.

Exhaust gas purification device for general-purpose engine

A muffler is equipped with a catalytic converter and is compact and capable of stably supporting the catalytic converter disposed in a muffler box with a single partition. The muffler box is formed by joining outer peripheral ends of three parts which are first and second box halves with open surfaces thereof abutting each other and a partition interposed between the first and second box halves. A first silencing chamber communicating with an exhaust inlet pipe is defined between the first box half and the partition and a second silencing chamber communicating with a tailpipe is defined between the second box half and the partition. A pair of supporting bosses protruding toward the first and second silencing chambers, respectively, are formed in the partition, and the supporting bosses support a holding tube of the catalytic converter communicating between the first and second silencing chambers.

Muffler equipped with catalytic converter

A muffler is capable of stably supporting the catalytic converter in a muffler box with a pair of partitions. The muffler box includes first and second box halves joined together with open surfaces thereof abutting each other, and first and second partition plates interposed between the first and second box halves and overlapping each other to separate inside of the muffler box into first and second silencing chambers and define a third silencing chamber between the first and second partition plates, one end opening of a cylindrical holding tube housing and holding the catalytic converter is connected to the exhaust inlet pipe, the pair of partition plates support the holding tube in such a way as to wrap an outer peripheral surface thereof, and another end opening of the holding tube is communicated with the exhaust outlet pipe through the first, second, and third silencing chambers in this order.
