It is an object of the present invention to provide a coating film capable of realizing satisfactory sliding properties in addition to water- and oil-repellent properties and wear resistance evaluated by a static contact angle, and a coating composition for obtaining the coating film. The present invention is directed to a fluorine-containing coating film which has a root mean square roughness of less than 3.5 nm and has a perfluoropolyether structure. It is preferred that the coating film has a polysiloxane backbone and further has a structure in which a fluoroalkyl group is directly bonded to a silicon atom of the polysiloxane backbone, and that a sliding angle of 6 &#x3bc;L of a water droplet is 24.3&#xb0; or less, or a speed of 20 &#x3bc;L of a water droplet sliding on a coating film inclined at 32&#xb0; is 0.1 cm/second or more.

Fluorine-containing coating film and water- and oil-repellent coating composition

It is an object to provide a composition used for formation of a coating film which simultaneously attains water repellency as well as heat resistance and light resistance. The composition of the present invention includes an organosilicon compound (a) which has at least one trialkylsilyl group and has two or more hydrolyzable silicon groups, and a metal compound (b) in which at least one hydrolyzable group is bonded to a metal atom.

Coating composition

The object of the present invention is to provide a polydialkylsiloxane backbone containing film excellent in durability against hot water. The film of the present invention comprises a polydialkylsiloxane backbone, wherein the ratio of carbon atoms to silicon atoms (C/Si) is not less than 0.93 and less than 1.38 in terms of moles. In the film, the magnitude of a contact angle change ratio drepresented by a specific formula can be not less than &#x2212;10% provided that &#x3b8;is an initial contact angle of water, and &#x3b8;is a contact angle of water on the film immersed in ion-exchanged water of 70&#xb0; C. for 24 hours.

The object of the present invention is to attain water repellency as well as the heat resistance and the light resistance. the transparent film of the present invention comprises: a polysiloxane backbone; and a trialkylsilyl containing molecular chain bonded to a part of silicon atoms forming the polysiloxane backbone, wherein alkyl groups in the trialkylsilyl containing molecular chain may be replaced by fluoroalkyl groups, and the transparent film satisfies at least one of the relationships of:()/&#xd7;100(%)&#x2265;&#x2212;27(%); and()/&#xd7;100(%)&#x2265;&#x2212;15(%),

Transparent film

The present invention aims to provide a water-repellant and oil-repellant coating composition which has good water-repellant and oil-repellant characteristics and further improves abrasion resistance, and a transparent film produced therefrom. The present invention is a water-repellant and oil-repellant coating composition comprising a first organic silicon compound (A) in which a fluorine-containing group having a perfluoroalkyl group or a perfluoropolyether group on the free end side thereof and a hydrolyzable group are bonded to a silicon atom thereof, and a second organic silicon compound (B) that is a hydrolyzable silane oligomer or a compound in which a carbon fluoride-containing group and a hydrolyzable group are bonded to a silicon atom thereof and that has a vapor pressure at 100&#xb0; C. of 1 atm or less.

Water-repellant and oil-repellant coating composition and transparent film

The object of the present invention is to provide a water/oil-repellent coating composition for forming a film capable of attaining both water/oil repellency and abrasion resistance. The water/oil-repellent coating composition comprises: an organosilicon compound (A) and a metal compound (B), wherein at least one first hydrocarbon chain-containing group and at least one hydrolyzable group are bonded to a silicon atom in the organosilicon compound (A), where in at least one hydrolyzable group is bonded to a metal atom in the metal compound (B), wherein a second hydrocarbon chain-containing group having a length shorter than the length of the first hydrocarbon chain-containing group may be bonded to the metal atom in the metal compound (B), and wherein a molar ratio of the metal compound B) to the organosilicon compound (A) as metal compound (B)/organosilicon compound (A) is not less than 18 and not more than 48.
